redskins on comcast sports

I was pretty much resigned to the fact that I was going to have to travel to see todays game. However I discovered that CC has the game scheduled on their channel at the correct time.

Has anyone with direct-tv had redskins programming show in the media guide but something else different is actually being shown. I'm just worried that I won't be able to see my skins and that CC is trying to give me the okey doke.

when the game comes on it last about 2 seconds and the screen goes black if you are an "out of market" viewer.

Is there anyway to tell beforehand if you're going to get blacked out? Gas is expensive.

Is it just a direct tv thing or is it with all carriers like comcast?

CLL - my first post and I'm sorry to say that it's a regional thing, cable or DirectV. I've had both over the years here in Raleigh, NC and the first time it happened I was more than a little peeved. Unfortunately, a local friend who had his own mega dish moved in January, so now I'm resigned to having to catch the NFL Network rebroadcast.

I will stream the game broadcast with Sonny, Sam and Larry Michael from TripleXESPN radio and probably just follow the drive charts on CBS Sportsline. It's not like watching it live, but it's a small consolation.

Good luck and HTTR!

DirectTV has Comcast Sports Net on Channel 629.

It shouldn't be a problem to watch it.

Ok now I confused. According to everyone else, I have to get to a local station because of the blackout.

CLL --

All I know is that it's really complicated. I live 5 1/2 hours west of DC and get the midatlantic DC Comcast on Direct TV - Channel 629 -- it'll probably be blacked out for me too. Does that make any sense?

I called Direct TV a number of times, I never get the same answer twice on why it's blacked out -- just something lame about the NFL, NBA, MLB, Network TV, ESPN, FCC, blah, blah... The only real answer is they're making money and we're getting screwed!

I pay nearly $200 a year to get the NFL package (on top of my monthly direct tv bill) so I can see the Skins every week during the regular season. You'd think Direct TV could give me the freaking preseason games too? But nope. Instead, I watch them on replay on the NFL channel.

I spoke with DirecTV and I know that the Comcast is going to be blacked out. If I were you, I would just call them and verify for yourself. I know for all westcoast customers, we have to wait until Sunday at 11:00 our time.

Aw man, I was all pumped because I was going to watch the game tonight on 629, and now I hate DirecTV!

And why the frick is NFL Network showing Ari vs NE? And to add insult to injury (well not really but) my local UPN 13 Channel is showing the fricken Rams game instead of the Skins game!

This sucks!

Plus I have work on Sunday at 11 Pacific Time so I can't even watch the Re-Run! LAME!

Well, I live in OCean City which is about 2 hours east of DC. Last year when Comcast Sports Net carried the Skins pre season games, they were blacked out here. I just spoke with my cable provider, and they told me that the game will be shown. Now, they also said the same thing last year, so I'll have my fingers crossed. I have a sinking feeling that those of us who are outside of the district are screwed.

We have to pay extra for Comcast Sports Net out here. We only get (within our package) our local fox sports channels.

I just added the extra sports package from DTV so I can get this game tonight and so I don't have to wait till tomorrow to watch it, I live in PA and it is showing I checked before I added the package. I also have the Sunday ticket so I can watch every Skins game and I also got TIVO just in case I have to work or do something stupid like that at game time.

Hope we look good tonight and nobody gets hurt. GO SKINS !!!!

Just make sure that it isn't blacked out. Most places will have it blacked out unless you are in the DC market area. My understanding is that the only channel that will air it live is USA9 in DC and whatever equiv. CBS channel in NY airs it. I think it is channel 36.

Unless something has changed, and I'm sure it hasn't, It won't be shown on channel 629 here in Philadelphia or any other place outside od D.C.

I hope I'm wrong but it will be blacked out.

You guys were right, this is freaking horrible, at least I got to watch the pre game. You pay this much for all this stuff and you can't even watch your team play, this sucks. !!! At least I can listen to it.
