Todd Collins sucks!

Wow.........I cant believe we brought this guy in. Actually yesterdays pre season game is a typical Todd Collins game. Remember how bad he was in Buff. Looks like 6 years of clipboard+ 2 years out of the game did not make things any better. I actually feel that there are high school qbs around the country who could have played better than Todd did yesterday. We should of hired him as acoach and brought in someone who could actually play. Losing CP on tyhe interception tackle was like a kick to the groin on top of the fact that collins sucks so bad.

He was bad, I think that Campell won the No.2 job

I agree - he really blew it last night. He looked much better during the FAD scrimmage. He was making rookie mistakes. I think he settled down a bit - but the damage was done. We can't afford that type of play in regular season where the reserve QB is only one play away from playing. Its not like he was suddenly thrown into the game. He knew he was going in after MB until the halftime.

If Cillins' play doesn't improve, JC will obviously be our #2, but we'll have to be very concerned at #3. We may need to release him and make him an assistant QB coach (since thats why they brought him here) and keep Casey Bramlet as our #3 QB?

it's one thing to throw the ball away, but what the #@$& was he looking at?

the way collins played I'd rather have randle-el as the 3rd string QB

Yeah, now you all know why, here in Kansas City, we are/were contantly worried about Trent Green's health. We've seen eight-odd years of Todd Collins, mostly in the pre-season, and knew he was absolutely horrendous. If he was in the game, it was going to be bad.

Let's call him what he is: A glorified coach that's going to teach Brunell and Campbell the offensive system. He once again proves, contrary to what Steve Superior want's us all to think, that it's not the system, it's the QB. You can know where everyone is going to be, and where you need to throw the ball , but if you can't execute (which Collins cannot, and has never been able to do on a pro level), games will not be won and mistakes will be made.

Yeah, Collins was bad but so what. It's the pre-season. They're all supposed to suck in the 1st game of the pre-season. I'm not expecting him to improve by leaps and bounds; however, I doubt he really sucks as much as he showed Sunday night. I do agree, however, hat Jason made great strides in claiming the #2 spot.

Somebody please tell me that JC will be the #2 QB before the end of preseason. I can't believe how bad Todd Collins was last night. That was terrifying!!!!

I spent my night wondering what happened to the T.C. I saw at TC.

Stil, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt, considering he's still the equivalent of a 2nd year player.

Collins was bad. Really bad. But, wasn't he working with all of the backup linemen? I wasn't watching all that closely, as once the starters were taken out I was more interested in seeing Campbell. But it seemed to me like the Bengals were getting through the O-line pretty easily and causing problems for Collins in the backfield.

I doubt the line Collins had in front of him was any worse than the line Campbell had. Based on that game, I'd have to say JC has the lock on the No. 2 spot.

i agree with everyone.
after the scrimmage game with the ravens i thought collins was a sure lock for the #2 spot. Collins looked good and Jason didn't look ready. But i don't recall witnessing a worse performance than I seen last night from Collins. no wonder this guy has been sitting on the bench for nearly a decade. -drinking

OK I'm not going to defend Collins, even though I am a Wolverine!!!!

He sucked.

However, is the first pre-season game a little early to completely write him off as a backup? Particularly since there are not 32 people in the entire country good enough to start a pro-game at all much less be quality backups?

Collins looked like he was so scared, it was sad this guy is supposed to be a vet and he looked he never played QB. Campell looked and he did it behind a shakey line and weak WR, we need to let him play with first time just to see how he does. And Brunell looked good except for that int

Theres no more "evaluation" of Collins's skill level. He is not capable of playing at the pro level. Dude is bad......was bad as a bill, sat out two years and sat the bench behind Green in KC...........Our team should have gone after Brian Griese or any host of capable players in case we need three qbs this year............we DON'T need his help implementing the saundres system.....thats why we have coaches. By far the worst aquisition of the Gibbs era........a player who cant play and shows no promise to become better. This dude has already proved he can't play.

In my opinion, collins lost the #2 slot. He looked more like a rookie QB in high school. ENTER BRIGHT SPOT JASON CAMBELL! The kid showed poise, patience and skill in the pocket, and got knocked a few good times also when the line collapsed. All in all, the kid in my eyes is #2.........Oh and I almost forgot , what a beautiful spiral bomb he can chunk!!!

amen... we should just have him throw it as far as he can on every play and have moss run as fast as he can and go catch it... probably not too many DBs who could keep up. a touchdown on every offensive play would be a nice way to go through the season. :D

I wish I couldve been one of the press asking Gibbs about Collins "So Joe, Todd Collins played like a 5 year old school girl, please explain"

Gibbs likely response...

"well I think what you got there, when you look at, the way we look at things is the qb is kind of a reflection of everything going on around him"

Press Reply,

" but Joe, there we're no little girl tea parties going on around TC and yet the litlle wuss was tripping over his own feet, throwing ridiculous darts into DLineman's chest and hands, and wetting himself."

Gibbs likely reply...

" We'll take a look at the film."
