I finally got a chance to have an 'extended chat' with my fellow Canadian Jesse Lumsden on Monday.

Just visit the front page for the article or click on the 'Visit the THN Website' link at the top of any message board page.

I have a few more questions for him today if I can grab him again.

Hi All, I got to see Lumsden in action while he played for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats last year. He is a great player, very heads-up, and he'll never give up. BossHog, if by chance you read this in time, you might want to talk to Jesse about shaving his head for cancer. Lumsden used to have long hair and last year he shaved it and donated it to a cancer charity (I can't remember which one for the life of me). Hopefully Jesse makes the team, he could easily become an All-Star in the NFL. He was going to florish into a CFL Star, and judging by the Ricky Williams appearance in the CFL, there isn't as large of a difference in talent between the two leagues as a lot of people think.

Great stuff... thanks a lot. I'll be sure to ask him if I can since one of my questions for today was actually if he was involved with any charities.

Thanks again.

Awesome, Boss. Most other reporters would have been asking where he was from, whether the NFL was harder than the CFL. . .

Good questions and dialogue. A great read.

A new Exclusive article that I enjoyed very much.

I find it always interesting that some athletes are able to balance very aggresive activities, such as football, with meditation and Yoga. It should not be a surprise because the Art of Zen goes hand-in-hand with martial arts in the Far East. But still, it does surprise me when I see it happen in North America. Those of us that have done some of this in martial arts appreciate its mental and physical value.

What a tough position to be for Lumsden and Carter. Both are great guys and I wish we were not as overloaded in that position. My best scenario has Lumsden on the Roster and Carter in the practice squad. Coaches are paid the big bucks to make difficult decisions and this is definitely one of them. I look forward to read Part II.

I am already in London Heathrow for those who were nice enough to send PMs with good wishes. I had a very successful trip. Thanks.

THN: I got an e-mail today from the Embassy of Canada today to thank me for running some articles on the Canadians at camp. Do you think about that? Do you think about the fact that you're actually down here representing Canada or do you just go about your business? Do you realize how impactful your success could be?

Jesse: Not really, see the thing is that I'm not really representing Canada because many athletes have done much more extreme things than this. All our athletes that go to the World Championships and to the Olympics... those are the athletes that are representing Canada. I'm just down here trying to make a football team and I'm representing myself. But of course I carry the love of my fans with me, and I love the country that I'm from and it will always be my home. But I'm definitely not carrying a burden on my shoulders that I have to do this for my country.

Is he the REAL thing or what? I am proud.

Part II was excellent. Like BH, I am really pullin' for this kid to make the team. I am hoping he makes the full squad but, if not, definitely the practice squad.

Great interview, total class act.
I'll tell you what, everytime I played against Jesse, he murdered us (Mustangs)...never thought one day I'd be routing for the guy.

Great interview and it actually is really cool. Is there any way you guys could get an interview with like a young guy who will make the team like Rocky McIntosh or Kili or one of the DT's. Thanks in advance.

How do you ACTUALLY know who will make the team and how is actually a player versus those that are in camp because they have nothing else to do and the one that just think the are players?

How do you know who will make the team and who won't? If that's too hard for you, tell us why you think Jesse won't make the team. You are quick to say what you think, but you just throw it out there.

You said the guy sucked and that was it.
This is a message board, as far as i know you could have been at every game the kid ever played and you are genuinely shocked that he made it this far. Now if I assumed that what would that make us?

How do you know a young guy that will make the team hasn't been interviewed?
Did a little birdie tell you that he wouldn't make the team? If so why did you waste your time reading about someone you knew would be here.

I had a lot of questions and because most of you post on this matter have quick hits. I figured I get as much as I could into 1 question as to not give you a headache.

I obviously failed... nevermind

I dont think Lumsden will make the team because we have 3 Rbs already and not many teams carry four. Why should this guy make the team? People want him over Rock. Lumsden good in TC vs Rock good against teams in the NFL season. That is a BIG BIG BIG BIG Difference. How can you say you want Lumsden over Rock. Rock has proven himself as a solid 3rd back with great career numbers and Lumsen hasn't. He may have killed the Canadian League but that doesnt mean anything in America. He could be the 4th back and if Betts or Rock get hurt he could dress a game or two. That is best case scenario for him. I am not rooting against I want every Redskin to be great, its just this guy doesnt belong up here with the big boys and he certainly does not deserve to get Betts traded.

Do you guys remember Neomiah Broughton???He was the same thing last year and he made the team but he was not important. All Lumsden can hope to be is a Neomiah Broughton. I hope I am worng and I hope this guy somehow does end up being great but he just wont he just doesnt have a good enough skill-set. I hope he proves me wrong.
