Vote for Monk (again)

ESPN is now running a poll about which players most deserve to be in the HOF, and Monk is leading the pack. What is incredibly stupid about this particular poll is that it combines football and baseball players. Still, I want to see Art win. So go
here and vote for Art!

I voted. He is leading by 9% over crackhead Irvin.

The Washington Post's Len Shapiro, who I respect a lot, made a great point to me after last year's vote. I was strongly pro-Harry Carson because I thought one of the five best run-stoppers in history should have his place in Canton. And obviously there are no stats for run-stoppers. Shapiro said to me that Monk did for the Redskins what Carson did for the Giants -- as a leader, a player and a totally unselfish piece to Washington's championship puzzle. So as I go through this season, I'm asking questions of people I respect who either played against or coached against Monk. If I'm wrong in my stance against him, I'll admit it.

Not to mention they have been saying on ESPN Radio all day Friday that the reason why "Anit a man" is getting into the HOF is because he was a great leader. Wasn't DG a great leader, as well as the player who made Champ Bailey and Fred Smoot the standout Corners they are today. Also doesn't being the fastest man in the NFL at least give you a little boost in the voting.... Let me stop before I get pissed again.
I am not saying that "Aint a man" shouldn't get into the HOF 3 Superbowl rings as a quarterback should be an automatic bid for anyone, there shouldn't even be a vote on that. But to have left DG out for this long is crazy, and the fact that news writers all over the country make excuses for why he isn't in yet is even more proof that they know he should be in.

I fulfilled my civic duty.
At least Peter Queen is looking for a way to retract, Paul "I am a NY Jets fan" Zimmerman is still the same old fool.

Is Daryl Green even eligible for the hall yet? I thought you had to be retired for like 5 years or something first.

I am a 110 percent, long term NY Giant fan. But I live in the DC area. I saw enough of Art playing against the Giants and agaisnt every one else. He was and is a gentleman. He was and is a role model. He was an incredibly dependable and effective pass catcher for many years. He was a team, not a me, guy. How many pass catching records did he set? Do you have to be a TO jerk to get attention? WTF do they want? He flat out belongs in the HOF, despite all the nasty things he did on the field to my team.

DG is not yet eligible for the Hall. I'm sure when he is eligible, which I think is in 2 years, he'll get in easily.

Wow I never thought I'd see a positive post from you about a Redskin.

Congrats to Harry Carson, He was a great player who should have gotten in before now.
