Offseason grades

WASHINGTON REDSKINS

What Went Right: They found more help for the passing game. With tight end Christian Fauria and wide receivers Antwaan Randle El and Brandon Lloyd in the fold, Pro Bowl wideout Santana Moss should find more room to work outside. The hiring of offensive coordinator Al Saunders also should pay big dividends. He guided the Kansas City Chiefs' offense to record-setting numbers and could do the same in Washington. If that wasn't enough good news, the Redskins also learned that free safety Sean Taylor won't end up in jail.

What Went Wrong: They overpaid for some of these guys, especially Randle El and strong safety Adam Archuleta. But that's never bothered Dan Snyder before.

Grade: A

Good read.

I think it's funny that in the past when the Redskins sign veterans from other teams who are passed their primes they were crucified in the media, but when the Giants do it (LaVar and Madison) they get praised for it. See: their A- offseason grade from this guy.

He hasn't done anything noteworthy in longer than that. < Purposefully to piss off the Lavar man lovers.

Hey, I love LaVar. I'm just saying it's ridiculous how the Giants get praised for signing these guys when the Redskins would've been crushed for it.

They both got 31 million over 5/6 years.... 10 million in Bonus money.
AA is a proven vet and A.R.E. is also a proven commodity signing his 2nd contract.

Lets compare what they got to these guys that haven't played a down in the NFL (most signing contracts this week).

By mid-season we should know who over paid for who.

The overpaid joke is going to go the way of the "Snyder doesn't know what he's doing and is signing old players past their prime" joke. It'll live about 2 seasons longer than it's true, and then it will go away.

Ever since Gibbs has been back, life as a Redskins fan has been sweet (even in the struggling year). Old "overpaying" Snyder hasn't ruined a thing.

Good post. I think Lavar is a little too old to deserve all the "man love" he is getting for joining the Giants.
