Seconds ago on NFL live, the guys reviewed the NFC East. When they discussed the Redskins, they acknowledged that the Skins brought in a lot of talent. Their concern, however, was potential lack of team "chemistry".
Well, nothing I've read thus far this off-season has been concerned about team "chemistry"....so I'm not sure why they're worried about it.
Is anyone else out there concerned about this?

I'm not concerned at all. I think they just don't have any more negative comments to report about the Redskins. They are now finding out that the Redskins are for real. Starting from the coaching staff and players on the team. Just my 2 cents.

Actually, I think we have the best team chemistry in the division. Dallas has TO, and we all know what he does to team chemistry. The Giants have never had team chemistry (too many egos, and the NY press to boot). The Eagles' fans will kill any chemistry at the first sign of weakness. Our team is all Gibbs' guys now. True core Redskins. We are returning something like 27 starters, from last season, and we have upgraded at every other position, with the possible exception of WLB. I have felt like team chemistry has been one of the strongest things about this off-season. Those guys are just looking for some way to try and deride our team.

Solid team chemistry has usually been a hallmark of Gibbs teams. I have no worries about that at all. Plus, I think the players all sense that this is going to be a special year, and don't want to mess that up with something as stupid as an ego trip.

I agree. Team chemistry is the least of my worries. I think a ton of chemistry was created last year in just the 2 Cowboy games alone. In fact I'm not really worried about too much. I think this team has the potential to have a great season and only worry about the intangibles like weather, freak injuries, bad ball bounces and refs with their heads up their patooties (did I just say "patooties"!?)

I guess I worry about Brunell staying healthy too, but that's just superstition for me. I figure if I don't, he'll get hurt. But then again, I can't wait to see Campbell play real minutes, so I guess I'm back to not being worried that much.

I agree 100%. I would worry about the Giants, Cowboys, and Eagles chemistry long before ours. Those NFL Live guys are just grasping at straws trying to find something to criticize.

If i had to rank all my worries about this years team, Quarterbacks would be at the top and Team Chemistry would definately be at the very bottom.

That dope on ESPN radio Colin Cowherd has been saying the same thing. When has chemistry ever been an issue under Gibbs? If anything I would think that putting together five in a row to make playoffs would be an example of how good Washington's locker room really is. That won't change this year.

I just saw the show on TiVo. In the last segment Tom Jackson actually said, "the Redskins improved greatly this offseason and Joe Gibbs WILL figure out a way to get the chemistry together!"
The fact is this team is just SO complete that they are having trouble at ESPN finding things to question on their TV shows.
It's also notable that they were asking questions pertaining to training camp (for example, with the jets they asked who would emerge as the starting QB) and not the season as a whole.

We won superbowls after 2 strike interupted seasons. This was not a coincidence, but was the result of team chemistry. That's the hallmark of a Gibbs team. My only worry is injuries.

Ya, I heard that too. I heard Tom Jackson say "Dan Snyder can't buy chemistry."
Actually, TJ is right. Thats why Dan hired Gibbs. To bring continuity and chemistry to the organization after almost a decade of coaches coming and going. They just failed to add Gibbs to the equation. They're still the 'experts' guys, I mean.. come on.

It's entirely possible the NFL Live crew is concerned the team might mix water with sulfuric acid.

Adding water to sulfuric acid is dangferous. Adding acid to water is safe. Trust me on this 1, I've had 1st hand experience.

I don't think they did any math at all... There are about 70 players on the roster, of those only 21 were not on the roster that sounds like a lot of new faces but includes 11 rookies some whom won't make the team, and only 3 are projected starters and a third string QB, and primary KR
The Skins brought in 5 OL with all 5 starters returning (that's 10 linemen + 2 backups from last year), There are nine LB on the rosteragain all of the starters returned (Holdman started more games than LA

), 7 back-up DBs 2 punters and 2 kickers.
19 out of 22 returning starters, 5 newbies that appear to be locks to make the roster and a bunch of rookies competing for MAYBE 4-5 spots.
All team would like to have the chemistry and continuity issues that the Skins have.
BTW: 95% plus OTA participation would go a long way for a team with continuity problems in their future

There are 89 on roster right now. I counted 33 new playesr including 18 rookies. Many of the rookies & SFA's won't make the final roster. I count at least 12 from last yr who are gone. I don't know the league average for turnover, bur I doubt if this is out of line. LA's departure probably helps team chemistry.

You're using the same math they are. The end result of TC will decrease the number of player that will be on the roster - that's when chemistry will count.
Going into camp the depth chart looks like this...
Left Tackle Chris Samuels Jim Molinaro
Left Guard Derrick Dockery Ikechuku Ndukwe Kili Lefotu
Center Casey Rabach Tyson Walter
Right Tackle Jon Jansen
Right Guard Randy Thomas Mike Pucillo Jon Alston
Wide Receiver Santana Moss Antwaan Randle El Taylor Jacobs
Wide Receiver Brandon Lloyd David Patten James Thrash
Running Back Clinton Portis Ladell Betts Rock Cartwright
Full Back Chris

ey Mike Sellers Manuel White
Tight End Christian Fauria Robert Johnson Chris

ey
Quarterback Mark Brunell Jason Campbell Todd Collins
Left Defensive End Andre Carter Renaldo Wynn Sean Guthrie
Left Defensive Tackle Cornelius Griffin Ryan Boschetti Anthony Montgomery
Right Defensive End Phillip Daniels Nic Clemons Karon Riley
Right Defensive Tackle Joe Salave'a Demetric Evans Kedric Golston
Strong Linebacker Marcus Washington Robert McCune
Middle Linebacker Lemar Marshall Khary Campbell Kevin Simon
Weak Linebacker Chris Clemons Warrick Holdman Roger McIntosh
Left Corner Back Carlos Rogers Kenny Wright Dimitri Patterson

Strong Safety Adam Archuleta Pierson Prioleau Reed Doughty
Free Safety Sean Taylor Curry Burns
Kicker John Hall
Punter Derrick Frost
Long Snapper Ethan Albright

Those drags are just mad because they dont have anything to _____ and moan about anymore. Gibbs is making them all look stupid and he's going to do it again this year. We're going to sweep their beloved Cowgirls and win the east. If we win the SB I hope Gibbs signs a 1 year contract extension if he can make it.

The single biggest Cancer in the NFL is now in Dallas and they are worried about Chemistry with the Skins?

I haven't read truer words. We get players who really like it here and all of the players seem to be cool but we can't gel. TO has destroyed two teams yet he's going to magically change like he was supposed to do with Philly and lead Dallas to the SB.

Well, the "one-good-year" theory on TO still seems to be true. His team-killing-implosion isn't scheduled until next season, but since he's a Cowboy, I'm hoping it comes early this time!! Sept. 17, 2006, would be just great!!

Dallas aint doin squat with TO.
They're going to do less without TO (injury).
They'll do even worse in year 2 once they dont win the SB.
TO wants a ring, he's not getting any younger. He keeps his body in TOP condition but nobody can time. That is the reason why I think his patience/tolerance for other players will wear thin quicker.

The way I see it, the following players from last yr are vulnerable:
WR- Jacobs. Even if we keep a 6th WR, there are 6 other players competing for it.
OL- Molinaro, Ndukwe. There are 10 candidates for probably 4 positions.
RB/FB- Broughton. 5 candidates for probably 1 slot.
DE- Clemmons. Was #4 DE last yr. Carter pushes him down to #5. Has competition from Riley & Sykes. We will probably only carry 4 DE's.
DT- Boschetti, Killings. We have 4 rookie DT's in camp. If Gibbs & Williams were confident in the incumbents, they wouldn't have brought in 4.
LB-McCune & maybe Campbell. Competition from Simon & Havner. 2 of those 4 will stay.
CB- Morton or Patterson will probably go.
S- Burns. I see Doughty taking the #4 S spot.
P- Frost. Unless a) he inproves a lot or B) Lonie is a dud, he's gone.
K- Hall. If he doesnt show more range than last yr, he's in trouble.
My guess is there will be around 20 new players on the 53 man roster.
BTW,

ey is a TE, not a FB. TE depth is:

ey, Fauria, Johnson.
FB is Cartwright & Sellers. Maybe White or Broughton.
Carter will start at RDE, backed up by Evans. Daniels will move to the left. Guthrie is gone.
Turnover is a fact of life for pro athletes. All this said, I see team chemistry as a strength, not a weakness.

I've been watching the replays of the second Dallas game last year. We dominated that game in all facets. The players were totally together as a team, everybody playing their part in the victory. This is the way I remember Gibbs' '80s teams playing. Winning breeds team chemistry. The guys were executing, kicking Cowpie butt in front of the home crowd, and loving every minute of it. Those final five games down the season stretch spoke volumes about this team's chemistry in the second Joe Gibbs era. These guys know that Joe is going to lead them to the promised land. They have learned from him, that if you execute better than the opponent, you will win the game.
BTW, My new nickname for number 47: Chris

ey, Cowboy killer!
