Last year at the THN tailgate, all you heard about was "the freedom grill" this and "the freedom grill" that.
Well...this year I took the plunge. The freedom grill just came out with a less expensive model - the FG-50. I quickly bought one today and I'll be using it for this upcoming year's tailgates.
Read more about the FG-50
here.

Just got my Freedom Grill FG-50 delivered today! Now I'll have to figure out how to set it up so I can have it up and running by the first preseason game!

I'll try to mosey my way down there on opening night, or at the Giants game. Those are the only two games I'm gonna attend for sure.

Nice, JH... w'ere just waiting on a new FG50 ourselves... we should have both bbq's at the tailgate this year... we MIGHT have them there for the Ravens scrimmage.
We also got a new rotisserie from FreedomGrill for the bbq we got last year.
Mmmmmmmmm.... tailgate food. And you just can't tailgate properly without a Freedom Grill (shameless plug - I know).
Make sure you tell them THN sent you when you order one... you won't be disappointed about your new bbq that's for sure.

MAN! If you guys haven't been to THN's tailgates you dont know what you're missing!
I swear its some of the best food I've ever had. The chili, the gumbo...my goodness, its ridiculous how good it is.
And congrats on the grill JH!

Reading what's posted around the site and on the boards, you'd have some idea of what your missing. But you still wouldn't KNOW. So I have to say... yes

Yes it does...but that never stopped Yogi Berra, either.

I just test fired my Freedomg Grill for the first time....and I'm kinda dissapointed.
The electronic lighter won't work for me. I have to match light it.
Man, what a bummer.
Any suggestions from those veteran Freedom Grillers out there?

Let me just follow up my last post....because I now feel compelled to do so.
I sent an email to the folks at Freedom Grill and let them know my problem.
I did that about 10 minutes ago.
Did I wait until tomorrow to simply get an e-mail back?
Absolutely not!
They had my phone # on file and actually called me to discuss my problem!!
I took the grill off and looked at the ignitor. Honestly, it looked like the post was a little close to the burner (not giving much spark) so I bent it out, to make the spark bigger.
Wham.
Electronic ignitor now working.

.
I wanted to post this follow up to give my KUDOS to those folks at Freedom Grill.
What excellent customer service!!!!
You just don't find that much any more!

I think you should take a look at the ignitor. If the post looks a little close to the burner bend it out, to make the spark bigger.
Hope this helps

Im shocked that people aren't more aware of these types of issues nowadays. You'd think it'd be common knowledge at this point in time.

Actually, as I was talking to the guy and looking at the grill, that's exactly what I told him - the post was a little too close. Once I bent it out, it worked.
And CLL, I never had to deal with this before...so I wasn't really sure where to look first. Either way, the problem is fixed, so I'm a happy camper.

Scott Salter runs a tight ship over there. They are a laid back bunch of guys over there, but they are proud of their brand name and very responsive. We had a minor problem with ours on Sunday at a tailgate (it turned out to be a funky wind blowing out the flame that we simply fixed by repositioning the grill) and the only number I had was the CEO. He called me back within 10 minutes to make sure everything was ok... on a Sunday.
I can't recommend this product enough. Its the ultimate guy toy. It looks cool, it draws a crowd, and it is one of the best grills I have ever used.
