I know yall hate SI but Im glad that the reading population of SI realizes the travesty of Arts dilema.

I believe Irvin deserves to be in but not before Art. Make your voice heard.

I'm at Panera and apparently they feel the same way we do about SI. Got this message:

Peter King wrote:Catching 750 balls for a three-time Super Bowl winner and being the key guy in the locker room on game days ... that should make him a gimme.

He wrote this quote about Irvin. What a tool for arguing against Art for all these years.

All King is going to do is claim that 'skins fans stuffed the box, and continue to minimize Monk as a receiver, blah, blah, blah....

You can probably shave 30% off the top for each player, from 'Skins and 'Pie fans. Ooops, that leaves Irvin with no rational votes over Art. Makes sense to me!

As of 1:50 PM on 6-6-6,

Actual numbers:
Monk - 71%
Irvin - 29%

Peter King's numbers:
Monk - 71% of vote
Irvin - 666% (29% of vote * (PK (Peter King) factor)/(FL (Fat Lenny) factor)+ (3 Irvin Superbowls - 750 Irvin catches) = 666%

See? King's math actually works. It's simple.

In no way shape or form am i condoning Peter King or anything that comes out of his fat jelly filled donut eating mouth, but at least he says in his article that,

"Ain't so. I'm a fan of no football team. You may be interested to know that I am going to rethink my position on Monk this year. I don't want to be so stuck in the mud on this issue that I close my mind to the possibility that I'm wrong and that Monk really does belong. So I'm going to sit down with Joe Gibbs when I see the Redskins this summer and try to soak in what the Monk side believes I am missing. A lot of people I respect tell me I'm dead wrong on Monk -- Len Shapiro, Mike Wilbon among them, plus quieter ones with close ties to the Hall. So I'll rethink my position and let you know what I come up with"

If Joe Gibbs cannot explain to Fatboy why he is so insanely wrong about this travesty then this may be Art's last shot. I guess in Fatboy's comments about Irvin that 770 receptions and 3 superbowl rings is a gimme to get into the hall, that it only applies south of the mason dixon line. Doesn't Art have 980 receptions and 3 superbowl rings and one less felony count?????

I really hate this guy.

Actually it's four rings if you count the loser ring from '83 (Still the #1 offense at the time of Art's retirement.)

I am one among the quiter ones he refers to at the end of this paragraph.

Give the guy a chance. he is trying to get out of a frame of mind that he was politically stuck with. Remember that I told you in many threads associated with Monk that things would change IF Joe Gibbs succeeded during his return? It proved to be true.

So, you will go and seat next to Joe, Peter?

Go ahead! But you may have been better off listening to him YEARS ago when he said:

"He was big, he was strong, and he was intelligent. He had everything."

"I can't see how a receiver could be more valuable to a team."

... among many other statements of support!

I will change my signature ONLY IF and WHEN he and Paul Zimmerman change their stand.
