yes... we've all already heard the jokes up here... the Cannabis Football league blah, blah, blah...

Here's a story about the Toronto Argos signing him and how it may have heated up an already hot rivalry.
That's just down the road a little from my house... I may just have to catch a few Argo games this year.

nfl channel does some cfl games.....im sure they'll show more now that rickys around

I have to agree with Joe on this one!

I can't wait to go see him. I already have my Labour Day Classic tickets Toronto Argos @ Hamilton Tiger Cats. The CFL is always brodcast on the Fox sports networks, usually FOX NY, NESN, MSG. These are carried on Directv and Dish Network, Im not sure about Comcast.

I'm not sure I understand what the big deal is, or why Joey T blew his top. The guy smokes doobies, big deal. Does that mean he has a 'problem'? And he reconsidered his dedication to his profession, who hasn't? Someone will say 'He let his teamates down.' Sure, he did, but I'm sure at that time he felt as though he had to do what was right for himself, and not other people. People fail to understand that he's not just some weirdo, he has a pretty serious social disorder. I'm surprised at how hard people are coming down on him.

By the way, I'm not sure I've heard Joey T. ever say anything that negative about guys like Ray Lewis or Jamal Lewis, and yet he's all over Ricky Williams. Go figure.

Absolutely.

I'm not drawing comparisons to JG here, but the coach of the Argos (Mike Clemons) is a pretty special coach/individual in his own right. He found a way to not only exist in a professional football league, but thrive in it. (He's about 5'6" tops I'd say) He was still actually PLAYING for the Argos a few years ago but quit playing to coach the team. (They were in a bad state)


I'm not saying that Clemons can single-handedly turn Ricky's life around, but it seems very unlikely to me that Clemons would put up with too many shenanigans. Ricky can play ball for Clemons in Toronto, or get out of Dodge.

Joey T probably wouldn't know Mike Clemons from a hole in the ground either... so to judge an entire organization, it's coach, it's staff and an entire league based on his own preconceptions seems rather.... ignorant.

I guess he should be thankful that the CFL didn't think Joe Theismann was just some 'bitter, not-quite-good-enough quarterback when they welcomed him into the league back in 1971. Good thing nobody said, 'Do we really want this kid? he's so arrogant that he had his name changed to rhyme with Heisman.'



Mike Clemons comments on Joey T today:

"I'm very proud as a Toronto Argonaut and I don't care whether Joe Theismann was standing here or the Prime Minister himself," Clemons said.

"I would suggest that the Toronto Argonauts are making a bigger impact in the community than they ever have and I invite Joe Theismann to come and share some of that and do some of those things. Not in the name of the Toronto Argonauts, but in the name of the youth of Toronto.

"I am in no way intimidated by anyone's statement, including Joe Theismann, about our commitment as an organization, our commitment as team. I'm very comfortable with that."

The bolded part of the quote is very reflective of Clemons' personality and philanthropy... and another part of what makes Joey T's comments seem very empty to me personally.

Obviously... nobody likes the sound of joey T's voice more than he himself does.
