The Washington Redskins will offer veteran defensive tackle Dan Wilkinson a chance to recoup his lost income through incentive clauses if Wilkinson agrees to the pay cut the team wants him to accept, NFL sources said yesterday.
Wilkinson's status remained unclear while the Redskins picked up the pace of contract negotiations with their three draft choices. The team was close to completing a deal with its seventh-round selection, quarterback Gibran Hamdan, and was making progress toward signing second-round wide receiver Taylor Jacobs and third-round guard Derrick Dockery by the end of the week, sources said. The club is scheduled to report to training camp on Sunday at Redskins Park.

I thought this was one of Fios' retro threads for a moment. Personally, I think we could do fine without the guy. Wilkinson, I mean. Although doing without Fios has its advantages as well.....

The post about Wilkenson being released is current. The 1 about the Skins negotiating with him is 3 yrs old.

yea that second link is deff pretty old. Just look at the draft picks we are close to signing. Taylor Jacobs, Hamden?? I mean i guess we all wish training camp started sunday as well. Not sure why this was even posted, I havent seen anything with the skins negotiating with "big daddy". As for the move i really wouldnt mind it if we got him cheap and he realized he would be a situational player. we already have our d line in position and with wynn making the transition to DT wilkenson might of not even smelled the field. Just ,y opinions...

Where did you see that Wynn was moving to DT? I figured he'd back up Daniels at LDT.

it was on one of those videos on redskins tv. it said that he would be backing up at DE but would also be in the rotation for DT. Im not sure how long ago but i remember seeing it and thinking that it was a good idea. Wynn as a DT might be able to cause more of a pass rush from that spot than big joe sal. He is more of a rush stopper. Sorry i dont have a link tho but take my word for it I deff saw it

I can see him at DT on pass plays, but not other times.

Last week GW talked about the entire D-line including Wynn moving inside in some packages. It should still be up on Redskins.com

I guess you could just call him "Big Grandaddy" now, if you wanted to.

I'm not saying we NEED him, just that he can still contribute & I wouldn't mind having him here.

He played a 16 game schedule last year and didn't miss a game. Someone will pick him up but we don't have to be that someone.

My guess is that we won't pick him up, but I don't think it would be a bad move.

Unless, of course, you're abbreviating "Quantum Field Theory".
