A friend of mine who is as devout a Dallas fan as we are Redskins fan shared this with me from the Dallas NFL site, very grudingly. It is soooo nice to be remembered this way in Dallas!

Take your pick: Either Washington game. Was it the first meeting in which the Cowboys completely dominated the Redskins for 56 minutes, only to give up two long touchdown passes to Santana Moss and lose, 14-13 on Monday Night Football? Or was it the rematch, with the Cowboys needing a win to not only stay in the NFC playoff race, but avoid a sweep to the Redskins, only to play their worst game of the season, getting embarrassed, 35-7, at FedEx Field?

Sure, it's hard to think the second game of the season would still come back to haunt a team. But just how might things have been different if the Cowboys stopped the Redskins on fourth-and-15 from their own 39 with just 3:55 to play? Instead, Santana Moss splits two defenders at the goal line to haul in a touchdown pass from Mark Brunell. That score got the Redskins back in the game, and on the next possession, Washington took the lead when Brunell hit Moss on a 70-yard score that not only silenced a raucous Texas Stadium crowd, but spoiled a night that was supposed to be remembered for Troy Aikman, Emmitt Smith and Michael Irvin being inducted into the Ring of Honor. The Redskins basically stole this one from the Cowboys.

When we face them in Week 2... I suspect it will be one of the biggest games of the year. The rivalry has gotten even bigger!

aswas - I could read that post over and over!!!! I love swimming back in that pool of ultimate delerium. That was sooooo sweet last year.

I know a lot of people that will remember the night Aikman, Emmitt Smith and Michael Irvin were being inducted into the Ring of Honor

I was stationed in Norfolk, Virginia and had to get up at 4am to be to work on time in Newport News. I was so geeked after that game I don't think I slept at all that night!

I remember being here at my house by myself. I was going crazy. two neighbors came by b/c I was so loud and stayed and watched the game. I'm proud to say I cryed a bit. I was drunk also but that was the greatest game in my recent history next to us wining in the Playoffs last year.

I think (hope?) those 2 games really psyched the 'boys so much that they'll self destruct at the sight of burgundy & gold.

I know it's not right to say it, but if we lost 14 games and only won those two the season would have been salvaged for me last year. The 14-13 game almost makes me forget about Thanksgiving Day 1974, and the 35-7 almost makes me forget about the last game of the season, 1979. Look'em up if you have to, any true Redskin fan should remember those games..

I'm hoping that the 2 games last year start a streak whereby the Redskins beat the Cowboys in 10+ straight games! Will it happen? Not likely, but how sweet would that be?!?!? Pay back is a Be-yotch!
