no, i think he'll stick with LB.

He's actually a really good player, but he's just one of those guys that the stupid hard core drafters over look because he doesn't have like 4.4 speed.

Like people say all the time, this guy is a football player and I think he has a pretty good shot at making the roster, at least for ST.

Everyone thinks that we have depth at LB, but right now we only have two starters. McIntosh will be the starter at some put during the year, but that still leaves at least three bachkups (maybe four or five depending on special teams). Do you think that C. Clemons, Holdman, McCune, or K. Campbell are locks to make the team; I don't! I could see 2 or 3 of them gone if the coaches like some of the rooks!

Yes

7 LB's

Marcus Washington
Warrick Holdman
Rocky McIntosh
R.McCune
K. Campbell
C. Clemons
7th LB will be between Havner and Simon
Kevin Simon beats Havner out.

Havner won't be out. He is going to be a good player in this league. He was the defensive captain for UCLA and holds many records for the team and some pac10 records. Our coaches look for leaders and smart guys. Which he is. Not to mention an Academic All American. Just want you want out of your team. He isn't the fastest guy but he some how ends up always at the right place and is a sure tackler. I watched a lot of UCLA games here in LA.

Oh he was a finalist for the Butkis award and another that I can't remember right now.

I think this guy has a good shot at making the roster, but he is always overlooked

Hasn't played in two years - should be well reasted.

Shows he's had knee and hip issues.

He blocked a punt though.

I don't want Holdman to make it over a younger guy just because he has the most experience.

If he makes the team, I hope he earns it.

I say, cut Holdman and keep Simon and Havner...develop them and they should turn into solid players. Clemons and Campbell are solid veterans for us. McCune and the rookies are promising and versatile linebackers.

I have been impressed with what I have heard about Havner, the only thing that puzzles me is that if we thought he would be drafted, and were high on him, why did we take Simon in the 7th over Havner?

Simon probably would not have been drafted it weren't for us taking him.

hanver can be a practice square LB, thats where he wil be, i dont see him making it. to many LB's on the redskins better, more agreesive ,more athletic than him.

hanver is as agressive as a pussi cat ..

Havner was a semifinalist for the Bednarik Award for college football's top defensive player, the Butkus Award for the top linebacker and the Lombardi Award for the top lineman. He was the third-leading tackler in UCLA history, where he started for four years.
He ran the second-fastest shuttle time for a linebacker at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis, and he ran a sizzling 4.55 in the 40 on UCLA's pro day.

Dont look at me thats what all the draft profiles said about the guy

how, he only made tackles 10 , 15 , 20 yards down the field, was not agressive ,

was stiff in the hips and cant change direction .

why the heck did he not get drafted then?

what you think the whole NFl hates him or something lol .

he wil be a practice squard player nothing more .

Redskins have to many guys that are more agreesive, more athletic .

gibbs4life... you left out our leader at lb. Lemar Marshall. So he takes the 7th spot...dropping the two undrafted fa's outta the bunch.

No amount of atheleticism(sp) can save you if you're out of position. (see Lavar Arrington)

Holdman needs to be kept just incase these guys aren't ready mentally and to at least pass on the head game to them.

The only real locks at LB are Washington, Marshall & McIntosh. The other 4 spots are up for grabs. I think Havner will win 1 of those spots. Best bets for the other 3 (IMHO) are Campbell, Clemmons & Holdman. Holdman for experience, Campbell for versatility & Clemmons for pass rushing.

We dont need Campbell, and Holdman is a bum.

If Havner is "stiff in the hips", how did he run a 4.07 short shuttle & a 6.81 3 cone?

Really short, quick steps, I guess. :) If he won the event, it was because everybody stopped to watch him freak to the finish line.
