Ready for the NFL?

There was a great quote by our new safety Doughty.

http://www.greeleytrib.com/article/2006 ... 7/-1/rss03

"I know it's going to be tough, and coach Williams told me I'd better be in shape because he said he was going to make me throw up. I'm ready physically and mentally though."

If this kid's body can keep up with his 4.0 GPA mind, we could have some real value for such a late pick.

The great thing is that ALL of the players picked in this draft that I have read anything about seem to be character guys. A straight A student with a passion to study the game.

I was also really impressed with the demeanor of McIntosh, for example. One degree in criminology and two others to go, one in African Studies, -impressive-. Certainly not a typical "U" type personality.

Montgomery also has the potential to be a great story from the poor neighbourhoods of Cleveland all the way to the NFL. The scouts and the team did their homework. The more I know about our new players, the happier I get.

How could we dare doubt Joe Gibbs?

I'd say that only a few of our 2nd day picks and Free agent signings will even make the team. Maybe a few others make the "taxi squad."

I'm pleased with our off-season.

Here's one from McIntosh...

"(Arrington) did what he did here and what he did was great," McIntosh said Monday at Redskins Park. "I'm just glad they picked me up. I'm used to pressure. People can label me however they want, but I know what I have to do."

I ALLLLLMOST went to the University of Northern Colorado.

My sister goes there now.

The thing about Greeley is, there is a meat packing plant in that town and about every Friday it smells like cow crud and slaughter... ewwwww...

Anyway, I suppose that's neither here nor there. Good luck to this guy, he'll probably be a backup, but hopefully he can be a Ryan Clark type player.
