16 starts and 2 INTs with the Jags last season. Sounds like a good pickup for depth. True?

ASHBURN, Va. -- The Washington Redskins filled their need for a nickel back Monday by signing cornerback Kenny Wright.
Wright
Wright has spent time with Minnesota, Houston and Jacksonville over a seven-year career, playing in 110 games with 47 starts.
He started all 16 games in his only season with Jacksonville last year and had two interceptions.
Wright replaces Walt Harris as the No. 3 cornerback behind starters Shawn Springs and Carlos Rogers. Harris was cut for salary cap purposes last month.

Anybody know how he is? Other than by looking at his stats?
Is he better than WHarris? I read he started at Right Corner last year, does that mean he's starter material? I doubt GWilliams is going to make Rogers a back up, though.

He's younger, bigger, and had better stats than Walt last year, so it should be a little bit of an upgrade...

I know the Jags CBs opposite of R. Mathis (i.e. K. Wright) struggled last year and got picked on. The Jags have targeted that position as need to improve this offseason

According to Scouts Inc. they are both equal.
Still, Williams might have luck getting Wright to max out.
Nice move... now we have Wright and Jimoh for depth... will we sign another CB? Use the rookies?

All post relating to what should be done with the 53rd pick have been moved to it's own thread on that topic. The topic of this thread is the signing of Kenny Wright. Who is a upgrade over Walt Harris, I would prefer him not to have to start if SS or Carlos went down but I think he'd do a better job than Harris did last year.
He wasn't so much "picked on" last year, he Mathis on the other side(kind of like how everyone threw at Smooty when Champ here).

I like the sound of that.
I hope he can catch on quick.
Any info on how well the guy got along with his teamates on other teams?

I'm sure he'll be on Redskins.com TV soon enough and we can learn all about him.

I heard he got a 1 year $1.1M deal....
More than likely he got the Vet min. for a player going into his 8th year ($710,000.00) and about $400K for a signing bonus. For cap purposes he'll count $465K and replace Jashon Sykes on the top 51 salary list (only the top 51 salaries count toward the cap) Sykes cap number is $425,000 so adding our 3rd CB increased the cap by about $40K.
Eric and "the Danny" are unbelievable sometimes
