Los Angeles-New Team or Relocation

I have a couple items to discuss. I wanted to know what you all thought of Los Angeles and its aquisition of a team by 2010. Would you rather see a new team there or a team relocated.
Another question is, if its a new team what should the name be?
Los Angeles Quakes I was thinking or LA Dragons. I think that was our team in a football movie.

Well whatever it is and called it is long overdue. The city of LA needs a team. I can't believe they haven't had one since the Raiders left, such a big market could probably support 2 teams.

That would depend on when LA gets a team... If a owner just wants to relocate then that's no a major change.
If you add a team, you have a league of 33... see where I'm going with this? Do you add a additional team (1 AFC and 1 NFC) Naturally they will be added to the West divisions, making them 5 team Divs. Which brings more questions about playoff format and scheduling.

They will need a new name regardless, the trend has been for cities lossing teams to fight for the name in court - most owners let it go and move on (see Browns to Ravens then the return of the Browns)
I don't know if the team will need a name or a following more, it won't matter what they are called if everyone is at the beach on Sunday, or doing what they have been doing for the last decade or so every Sunday. Others will only be able to afford to support 1 team and in LA everyone knows who that is.
My Question is: How many Football teams have come and gone in LA, I've lost track

I'm not really sure but I do know that the money here is endless. You have really no idea the money that exhist in this city. The place will be packed. Another thing. This city is very into trends. Most people here would drop their team or the Raiders in a heartbeat should a team come here and be good. EX: Clippers this season. Their games are a sellout and this is the first year they've been good. All of the So Cal people can vouch for this.

L.A. is such a big city, it is strange why they can't keep NFL teams their. They have 2 MLB teams, 2 NBA teams and 2 NHL teams. They should put 2 NFL teams their NFC and AFC. The L.A. Crips and the L.A. Bloods.

Their stadium is almost as old as the original Coliseum. They need to build a more modern facility if they want to attract prospective owners

How about the LA Scandals?

Well they are torn now between the LA collosium or a location in Anaheim. If they build in Anaheim, they will have a brand new stadium and im sure that disney will have something to do with it. If they go with the collusium, they have to do a major remodel. It can be done but just going to take $$$. I wouldn't mind two teams being here. I think the city could handle it. Maybee thats what the NFL is working on now. Trying to iron out the details. There sure are enough people to support both teams between Oakland and San Diego.

Dan Snyder bought the rights to the "Warriors" name (I'm almost positive, correct me if I'm wrong)
The L.A. "Stallions", from "The Last Boy Scout" with Bruce Willis & Damon Wayans

LA's only viable option is relocation, as there will most likely never be any further NFL expansion. as others have pointed out, adding a new team would lead to uneven divisions and a messy playoff situation. the only possible degree of expansion at this point would be to add 4 new teams in each conference to preserve evenly-sized divisions. this is a bad idea for innumerable reasons, the primary one being dilution of talent. it's already hard enough to fill an entire roster with high-caliber football players. with 8 new teams the entire NFL would be plunged into varying degrees of mediocrity.

Los Angeles Chargers. They need a new stadium and nothing would have to be realigned by them moving to LA.

I once heard if there was to be a new expansion team it would be Mexico city. If that is true then LA would have to adopt a team or maybe they both get new teams on AFC and NFC.

I firmly believe there will be a day when we have 40 NFL teams. It will not happen in the near run, or even the intermediate run, but if 2056 rolls around and there are still just 32 NFL teams, I would shocked.
As football expands internationally, there will not be any shortage of talent.

Well it is my hope and sincere wish to see the Colts move somewhere again by Mayflower truck in the middle of the night so that Indy can see how it feels to be abandoned... I am too young to remember the first one myself, but my father was a b-more colts fan and their betrayal let to him being a skins fan and then molding me into one... so I guess it wasn't all bad, however I have learned to hate them as much as the cowboys and I would love to see them move then die do to lack of fan support.
