Okay, I think the guy is a piece of crap and I hate him. I think he is guilty of using all sorts of illegal roids and he should be band from baseball, just like Rose. I want to see what other people on this board think of him.

Barry Bonds is my least favorite current athlete.
The guy is a punk, a bad teamate, and a cheater.
If you don't believe he uses steriods you are an idiot. But it wasn't only Bonds who took steriods, it was EVERYONE back then. Bonds, Sosa, McGuire... all those guys took steriods and I hate them all.

Barry Bonds should team up with Jack Lalaine to sell the new and improved MLB "Juicer"!

What if you think he used roids but you don't hate him for it? I didn't see that option.
There is no proof he used once MLB made it illegal. If he did it (and I think he did) he did it when everybody (a lot of others) was doing it and Baseball was looking the other way.
Mark retired, Sammy shrunk, and Barry is still crushing baseballs.
You can ban him for something you think he did. He said he may have "unknowingly" used the cream, thats not the same as him saying he used roids.
I don't hate him for doing it, I don't like that he and others did it.
What can be done?
A. Nothing at all and move on
B. Put a * in the record books besides Bonds and every other player suspected of doing something that may one day be brought to the forefront if enough outside preasure is applied to MLB to "this is wrong"
C. Create a separate wing at the Hall of Fame for all players entering that played during this era of looking the other way. You'd have a pre-roids era, this current era (go back 15-20 years forward until about 2010), and a post-roids era
Sorry I couldn't vote in this poll, but some people know I'm new to following baseball so maybe the option I was looking for doesn't apply

Yeah I hate him and it has little to do with the steroids. I could care less whether he used them or not, he's still a jerk.

There is no way you cannot believe everything about it. Everything adds up, he did it.

Let's be clear about something, if you think, steroids or no, that Bonds is NOT one of the top 20 players of all-time, you're kidding yourself. His crap personality aside, his ovbious steroid abuse aside, he's a phenomenal player. The HOF is a collection of the best players, not the most pure angels to ever walk the planet.

I agree with Fios. He was a great hitter before the steroids, not to mention the fact that steroids weren't against the rules, and therefore he didn't cheat.
His attitude towards the media over the years is the only reason he is being targeted. I couldn't care less about Barry Bonds, but I think if there is going to be a witch hunt over steroids in baseball, you can't just target one guy just because you don't like him.

Your right, then MLB should do a huge investigation on anyone linked to the crap from the mid 90's and up and whoever gets caught, or is accused should face some sort of MLB trial. But, from all the possible users Bonds is the only A$$-clown! he is a real piece of crap.

No, JF. He cheated, period. He might not have gotten caught, then, nor was it against the rules, but he knowingly used a performance enhancing drug outlawed everywhere else but the MLB world. Granted, he's a phenomenal athlete, but we shouldn't sugar coat what he dd. He did cheat. He amassed records. It's a shameful thing for all of baseball, but he catches the brunt of things, since he's very dislikable. However, I think baseball should get over themselves and move on. Let Barry be. He's al ready got enough to worry about, what with having to special order New Era hats to fit his 13 & 5/8 dome.

It's not cheating to do something that's not against the rules. From a morality standpoint, it's wrong, but in the context of baseball, it was not cheating.

Oh, okay, now I understand what you are saying.
You're absolutely right about this being a "baseball" issue.
I think it's unfair that Barry's just being used as the scapegoat. Baseball should be ashamed.
Where's the poll option for that?
As for Barry...eh. (shrugs shoulders)

Exactly. I couldn't care less about Barry Bonds specifically.

Why just Bonds? Because he is threatening the home run records?
We know that Giambi and Sheffield used steriods. There have been plenty of other players (Matt Lawton) who have been caught and suspended for using steriods. Why is this thread only about Barry?

That's exactly my point, but you said it much more succinctly.

If you read the first post, I just wanted to get other people's opinion about Bonds, what you guys think of him? The poll wasn't to be exactly about his guilt or innocence or of other guys on the stuff. I mentioned this allready but a bunch of guys are guilty of roids, but Barry is the only Donkey! Giambi, Sheff, Raffy, Sammy etc... They are not nearly jerks like Bonds.

Sheffield isn't a jerk? The guy who hit the fan in the middle of a play? The guy who admitted to not playing hard for the Brewers in order to get out of Milwaukee?
Bonds is a jerk, but too suggest that Sheffield is not is completley ridiculous.

Back to Bonds. Yes, he was a great hitter before the steroids. A .300 / 30 HR / 30 steals guy. Remember Bobby Bonilla? He was the power hitter on the Prates, and Bonds was the all-around hitter.
Suddenly he hits more than 60 home runs? Not except by cheating.
Sure, I suspect the others of being cheats, as well. No, they should not name a highway in St Louis after the guy. No prizes for Sosa, either.

Bonilla may have had a comparative advantage in power, but Bonds had the absolute advantage. Bonilla's career high was 32 in 1990. Bonds supposedly went on steriods somewhere around 1999, and before that he had already had season totals of 33, 34 (with Pittsburgh), 46, 37, 33, 42, 40, and 37. Bonilla couldn't hold Bonds's jock.

Well, Bud S. and MLB are finally taking a stand and doing a full investigation on the roid issue. I hope eveybody who was and or is using the stuff gets busted and pentalized big time.
