From Bram's blog:
The Skins also came to terms with free agent DE Demetric Evans on an undisclosed contract..

Very solid player. I'm glad we were able to keep a hard working guy that our coaches developed.

Evans, Campbell, Killings, Rock
All good re-signings.

Hmmm...everyone must be asleep. Anyways if this is true then its great news. I like the fact that we added good players through free agency and still try to keep our unknowns in the process.
This helps the line maintain depth.

In amongst all the excitement about the big money guys we've been bringing in, re-signing people like Evans and Cartwright really pleases me. This is how you build depth. I wish we could have re-signed Clark as well, but the price became too steep once big money went to Archuleta.

49ers | Team visits with Evans
Fri, 17 Mar 2006 20:04:50 -0800
Jason LaCanfora, of the Washington Post, reports free agent DE Demetric Evans (Redskins) visited the San Francisco 49ers Friday, March 17, according to a source with knowledge of the situation, and has two more visits planned next week.

That's great news if true but I want to wait for another report to come out to verify.
Evans is a very important player to keep.

For God's sake people...
Resigned = quit
Re-signed= signed a new contract
There's a huge difference!

My humble apologies, oh wise one. I have edited my post to correct the errors. I feel humbled by my stupidity.
Now, would you like to contribute any more of your mighty wisdom to the subject of the thread?

Whatever, if any other forum member corrected you on your misuse of the English language it wouldn't be a big deal... but the second I do it you have to spaz out and cry about it...
Oh well, at least it's right now.

Shouldn't "but the second I do it you have to spaz out..."
be "but the second I do it, you have to spaz out"?
Just wondering....

It really isn't a big deal either way. I'm more upset that I've lost the moral high ground before I get a chance to correct all the crappy spelling and grammar I see on this board every day.
I think you're getting a little oversensitive - I'd have reacted the same if I'd been corrected by anybody else.
Anyway, we may all be a little premature here, because the Evans re-signing really doesn't look like a done deal yet.

so did we re-sign him or not?

Not sure if it is true or not. I saw it on blog of Bram Weinstein, Sportstalk 980's Redskins beat reporter. He is close to what's going on with the Redskins and only reports stuff when it is good information. I haven't seen it anywhere else, but I trust Bram.

No disrespect was intended chap, maybe I'm just a little snappy because I'm hungover.
Anyway, I actually enjoy your contributions to the board, but college (or university as you might call it... [/teasing]) has turned me into a major language snob.
Granted, this is just a message board, but when college educated people misspell simple words they ought to know (typos excluded) it drives me crazy.
This one girl was spelling flower petal on the board, and wrote "flower pettle"
I really wanted to throw something at her.
Oh well...

Beat writers usually have their finger on the pulse of what's happening with their team, but once in a while they'll get used to disperse false information.
Of course, that probably didn't happen here (since it's not like we'd need to keep it secretive) but he could have been given info from a source who is 90% sure it's going to happen or whatever.

Hehe ... you said it. When I was 19 I was so much "smarter" than I am now. Not knockin' ya SF55. Just reflecting on what I was like at 19.

Yeah, 19...
I'm 22, I'm heavily involved in campus and local politics and other activities, and I'm dating the girl I'm going to marry. Give me a little credit.

Thanks, but it was a simple typo.

skinsfans55 -- you said to UKSkinsfan,
"..but college (or university as you might call it)"
Just so you know...
College = An insitution for undergraduate studies
University = An institution for doctorates, graduate degrees and undergraduate degrees.
"We" (as in American's) also use "University."
It must be your age, my daughter is 20 and loves to correct everyone's mis-types, grammar mis-steps, etc... Once you get old like many of the rest of us, you won't really care about that stuff.
Quit being a "college" puke!

Wow, no crap! We use the word university in America?! What an amazing revalation!!
I've never heard an American person say they were going off to "university". British people use the word in a different way as we do... and it was meant to be a joke.
God, get over yourself.
