Okay, I didn't think Antwaan Randle El was worth signing.. I was okay when he left for you guys...
But PLEASE don't tell me the Redskins are going to take Ike Taylor away from us! How badly do you guys need a CB and who can you trade for him?
Taylor is a RFA and we offered him a mid level tender which = a first round pick but I know the Redskins don't have one.
This deal probably isn't going to go through, but it's interesting to think about what the Redskins can give the Steelers to aquire Ike Taylor.

Can someone with a good firewall check that link out for me? It looks suspect and I can't do it here at work.

P.S. I thought I wrote the article when I first read the name.

check out
www.tinyurl.com, it's a site where you can enter a long url and shrink it down.
the full url is so long that it will extend the box and people at lower resolutions will have to scroll side to side (which sucks).
I could post the full url but like I said, it will cause people to scroll from side to side to read this thread

The Dirt: Beware of the Redfaces Premium Story
By Jim Russell
Date: Mar 14, 2006
The salary cap isn’t slowing down the Redskins at all. The Dirt evaluates Pittsburgh Steelers CB Ike Taylor as Dan Snyder’s next target.
Thats all it is. There's a link to the rest of the article but I don't have a scouts.com membership

Well posting it in that manner with no quote will only make people ignore it. Most of us post from work and won't risk going to a link that might get us in trouble. So until it's checked out, I won't be visiting it.

The "official" websites take forever to give you breaking news. Plus, this was the only source I saw with the whole Ike Taylor thing involved.

Like Niki pointed out we have to be careful where we tread online on company PC's, Im not sure if you're aware of that. Im just making sure that a new user such as yourself is not linking us to anything bad. No hard feelings, Im just being cautious.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but that rumor points to the 2007 free agency period, no? I'm not sure why we are even discussing this right now...

The part about Len saying he will be a top UFA next year applies to next year. The rumor applies to this offseason.

He is a restricted free agent this offseason, and will become an unrestricted free agent next offseason.

Redskins | I. Taylor possibly drawing interest
Thu, 16 Mar 2006 07:59:48 -0800
Joe Bendel, of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, reports the Washington Redskins might have interest in restricted free agent CB Ike Taylor (Steelers). The Steelers offered Taylor a $1.55 million tender, meaning any team that signs him would have to give a first-round draft choice as compensation if the Steelers let him go.

While I know that the Redskins will beat the Steelers in money offerings to Taylor, they don't have the 1st round pick that is required to aquire a tendered RFA. I really hope the Steelers aren't entertaining any offers from the Redskins to get Taylor. I can't think of one player the 'skins that I would make the trade for.
