My take on these signings...

I dont know about you guys, but the way Im seeing these signings on offense is that they are stacking the offense side of the ball in order to make Campbell feel confortable. I really think that he might be in the Redskins plans as the starter next season. Just think of all of the weapons he has on offense now, it really is unfair to opposing defenses!! If he doesnt hand the ball to CP, he throws a screen to Randle El. If he doesnt throw a screen to Randle El he throws a bomb to Moss. If he doesnt throw a bomb to Moss he throws a post to Lloyd, and if that doesnt happen well you have the best "TE" in football just hangin out ready for a pass too. I really think they have been this active in order to make sure Campbell has weapons and isnt lined up for failure! I just made a 100 dollar bet 2 nights ago with a Ravens fan that we have a better record than them next year! Guess he will be calling me soon to try to get out of that one!

I'm thinking they better have Campbell start, no better time than with all these weapons.

I'm seeing Michael Strahan, Osi, Pierce, and Arrington converging on Brunell (Campbell), and dropping him long before he has a chance to throw to any of those options.

this is true, but if this is the case, it also puts a lot of pressure on campbell. If the offense starts performing poorly he will be looked at as the cog in the machine.

I agree 100% man. The coaching staff is setting all this up for Campbell no doubt. Im glad cause now having MOSS, RANDEL EL, LLOYD, COOLEY, PORTIS it would be fun to see Campbell come out and show his stuff. I donno guys but i think we might see Campbell be pretty good this coming season. Im not sure if he'll lead us to an automatic SuperBowl but i think with the weapons he now has, he can lead us farther then we went last season...yup that's right, i mean NFC CHAMPIONSHIP guys no joke!

You're underestimating my man Campbell bro. Im guessing your not a skins fan. Most likely a Giant cause you already think Arrington accepted a contract. But aye that's alright cause Campbell's gonna make some people wish they had placed the bet on him, just wait and see.

I couldn't think of a better scenairo for Campbell. Weapons, Protection and an Balls to the Wall, Offensive coordinator. Light it up Jason.

I guess you guys have never heard of tempered enthusiasm...
Wonder if there was any tuth to the rumor that A.R.E might be used as the third string quarterback?
We got MUCH better at wide receiver and got a great kick returner to boot, but I don't know if our offense is quite such that it's 'unfair to opposing defenses' yet. We will definitely be much less predictable and start imposing our offensive will more freely on defenses.
Carter and Archuletta would make a good defense better...
... and we'd go into the draft with few holes to fill. Hunting for depth only is a GREAT way to go into a draft... it opens up trade possibilities, takes the pressure off getting any one individual (virtually impossible anyway with no first-round pick). Perhaps most importantly, it allows you to draft the best talented player available with every pick, with no concern for 'settling' to also fill a need position.
The opposition might not be shaking in their proverbial boots yet, but I think Redskin fans have every reason to be excited about this upcoming season.

You know what I see?!?!?!? I see Arrington blowing his assignment on Randle and trying to kill Brunnell or Campbell. Then Brunnell yawns and throws a screen to Randel who runs 40 yards down the sideline and sets up the game winning field goal.

Patten struggled last season as No2 Reciever. In fact We didn't have a No2 reciever meaning we had to rely on

ey.
Now we have gone and armed ourselves to the teeth with young guns. we are set in this position for years to come.
I can see Portis having a better season next year, similar yardage on less carries and find more space to rip off the odd long gain.
We have addressed our most pressing need.
Will this spell the end for Patten. or is he to expensive to get rid of due to the salary cap?

Patten may have shown he is better as a #3 WR.
Now he can compete with ARE if he doesn't get the spot maybe he can hold on at #4.
Thrash and Jacobs both play special teams, so David has to win a receiver spot

I think that if Patten does stay and he probably will, do to the cap hit. These signings will open up the slot position better for him. He's much more effective as number three receiver

Well, to me, it looks like we now have some stability in the front office and they are not just throwing money around on just anybody.
We still have needs like a good, young DE; one or two servicable O-linemen; one or two servicable DBs; and JC turning out to be worth the #1 pick we used to get him.
Right now, on paper, our offense is now one of the tops in the league. Like I said, "on paper". The acquisitions of Lloyd, A.R.E., and Fauria are good but we have to wait to see who will be the QB? What will Saunders do with this offense? And just wait and see....

Im a little slow but can someone explain something to me.
ARE just got a $30 Million deal?
Lloyd will be making $5.5 Million a year?
Moss is making more or the same as the both of them?
Why are we paying a 3rd WR who is still some what of a question mark #2/#1 WR money?
I love the ARE signing also but we just payed him $10 Million more than a team that was already shelling out big money for him.
I just dont know how I feel about this yet. Maybe Im still sleepy... I know these guys will have a big impact on the offense but at what cost?
I think we're definately going to be releasing Patten, Farris, Jacobs and possibly Thrash although I doubt it.
The talent depth we have now is great but I simply believe we're paying too much for that depth but I guess nothing is official as of yet.

... or maybe you just don't understand the structure of a modern day NFL contract...
I'lll tell you what... if you can post the breakdown of El's contract, i'll listen to what you have to say. if you can't tell me a single annual salary, what the signing bonus is, where the roster bonuses are, what LTBE incentives are included... YOU'RE JUST BLOWING HOT AIR.
YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW HIS CAP HIT AND YOU'RE WHINING ABOUT IT.
Of course... you think that cutting Patten and LOSING 600K in cap is a good option too... maybe a little bit of salary cap education is in order here?
... or you could just keep complaining about things that you don't fully understand.

The only question/hope that I have is that we have something going on in the background for our punter/kicker situation. I am very pleased with the signings so far...suprised, but pleased. With the Van and Vin still on the market (i think) it would be nice for us to show interest. But they've got something up their sleeve. And they know alot more than I...so I'm happy to sit back and wait.

I guess Gibbs wasn't kidding about a "big splash" in free agency. At any rate, things are really coming out nicely. We've now got depth and plenty of competition at WR. Fauria will be a serviceable TE, and perhaps well draft a gem. Archuleta is the Polamalu of the NFC -- what a great addition! I also think (just pure speculation) we'll have Andre Carter on board, maybe as soon as today.
My biggest hunch is Carter at OLB and a trade to NYJ (Ramsey and next year's first rounder) for Abraham. I know it sounds a little silly, but it's a gut feel.

I've got the same hunch but hoping more along the line of Ramsey and this years #2
