Thats what they are saying now, everywhere, no cap. So, if this is true, the Redskins could go HOG WILD this offseason probably. Snyder is got major cash, and there is no doubt in my mind he would pick up some guys without a cap. I havent rad enough about the deal to know much, but would that mean this offseason no cap?

You definetly need to do some more reading. If the CBA isn't extended than there will be an uncapped year in 2007. So, in 2007 the Skins could go wild...but that also means that a number of our cap hits will be accelerated in 2006. It also means that there is a possibility of a strike year in 2008 if nothing gets done by then.

The best thing for the NFL and the Redskins is a new CBA. The current cap structure is the best in sports. The only change I'd like to see is a rookie cap, like the NBA. Reggie Bush will get a monster contract this year and the Texans hope and Pray that he's worth a $40-50-60 mil deal. Whatever it is, it will be wayyyy too much for a rookie RB.

I'd rather not see the NFL go to a situation where Danny doesn't have a cap. It would be too much like the Yankees and I don't like what George has done there. A payroll of $200 mil a year when Tampa Bay has a 20-30 mil payroll...there's just something not fair, or fun, about that.

Please get the new CBA done!

yea i agree there is nothing fun about that, its one reason i dont watch much MLB. Actually, i like the MLB because its like the only league without a salary cap so its different. However, i want the cap back too.

If the CBA does not get renewed the Skins may have to jettison a whole bunch of quality players and next year might not be so fun for us Redskins fans.

However the players Union is getting greedy. They want sixty plus percent of the NFL total revenue allocated to players. That is pretty damn greedy in my opinion....greedy

The No. 1 problem hasn't changed: the league's owners can't agree on a revenue sharing plan amongst themselves – nor do they appear ready to meet the union's demand that 60-plus percent of total football revenues be earmarked for players. Boiled down, the NFLPA is looking for another $200-$300 million a year in league-wide cap space. That translates to slightly less than $10 million per year in additional cap space for each team.

Either way, all I want for them is to get a deal done by Thursday. And knowing Gene Upshaw, he won't change his stance so now it's all on Paul T to just give in. I mean seriously, a higher cap is better than a strike.

Plus, if they don't strike a deal, we are in deep deep you know what.

I'd like to see a deal done - with caps for rookies. The CBA is great for the NFL. Its bad enough to pay for tickets now. Imagine what would happen if the flood gates were opened? Those costs get passed on to the fans! You'd have to be a millionare to take a family of four to one game!

But then, remember who won the SB the last time they had a strike year? ... Why we could even get Keenau Reves to play QB like he did in the movie ...
