Something Special In the Air

The team's biggest deficiency throughout much of last season was it's play-calling and execution offensively. The season hasn't even been over for a week, and that's already been fixed. The hiring of Al Saunders as the team's offensive coordinator will be as big an addition as any that will follow this offseason. He's churned out upper echelon offenses in Kansas City year-after-year of late, and knows what he's doing on his side of the ball like Gregg Williams does on the other. Great hiring Joe!

Speaking of Joe, let me reiterate again that the man is a genuis. He spent the last few days sitting down and chatting with each and every one of his assitants, from Williams to his son Coy. They've all agreed to come back next season, each realizing as definitely as you and I that something special is about to come to fruition in the nation's capital. They're all going to retun in 06, and all likely but Don Breaux will maintain the same titles as they did this past season.

Something special is going on here. A year ago two underachieving receivers were begging to leave and we couldn't pay our best free-agent players enough to stay. Now even the one's who've had hard times here are "praying" to come back, and coaches who could get promotions elsewhere would rather stay with Gibbs and the Skins. Something nice is about to begin, or more accurately already has. Can you feel it?

how far we've come since people were calling for Gibbs head eh?

I really can't wait for the media denial. Gibbs sure doesn't looked so washed up anymore does he? Unlike many other HOFers, Gibbs is truly one of the best of all time. When he takes us back to the superbowl it will cement his name as one of the top 3 coaches of all time. That will be next season BTW ;-)

Umm, aren't we getting a little ahead of ourselves, saying this? I'll believe the offense has been fixed when it takes the field, and not before then. I think hiring Saunders was a smart move, and I sure hope it gives us a consistent top-10 offense, but it's way too early to be sure.

Gibbs knows he can't do it by himself that's why he hired Williams, Bugel, Blache, Musgrave and now Sanders. What a great coaching staff.

 For that matter, why don't we withold ANY commentary on the Joe Gibbs regime until AFTER he's fulfilled his 5-yr contract, and ONLY AFTER comparing it to the great teams in History. Again,

It's the offseason...let us enjoy it. Please!!!???

That's comparing apples to oranges - Gibbs has already done something in the 2 years he's been back. He produced a winning record and a playoff win. So far all Saunders has done is sign a contract.
