I gotta admit i got a PSU bias but I would love to pick him up in the draft and I know he will be available in the 3rd round or lower. He can play wideout, running back, QB if needed. He is a randel el type guy that I think could be even better. He loves to level a good hit and wont shy away from contact. Ask the safety from the minnesota game that got taken off on a stretcher

I like Robinson as well. I great athlete and a great guy. Could definitely be used at different positions. I think we probably have other needs though before we draft what I call a luxury guy.

I agree we have more pressing needs but If we get a mid round pick for ramsey, i wouldnt mind seeing us grab him if available.

Hey, ive read this site a whole lot and really enjoy it. This is my first post and i would like to say that ive watched michael robinson throughout his career at penn state and think he would be great to have on his team. He showed that he was a great leader on his team and was willing to play whatever the team needed of him, even though he always wanted to be a quarterback. He is fast, strong, and willing to take a hit.

One other thing that paterno always said about him was that he was always studying film and became obsessed with being prepared for games. He would make his receivers watch film with him, and prepared them as well, which is why they succeeded this year.

Ryan leaf was a great college player too. DOnt see your point?? There are NO garuantees from college to pro. NONE.

I would love him if we would move him around from position-to-position to help with explosion plays. I like the make up of this offense, but we need more than Moss alone to create explosion plays.

I was reading Mel Kiper's analasis of the Senior Bowl practice's and he said for sure, Michael Robinson will have to move to either WR or Safety if he wants a shot at playing in the NFL.

He said something like he didn't have the smarts or arm to be an NFL QB.

Smarts meaning getting a dual degree in 3.5 years then getting masters before december? I dont think it would ever be smarts. I can understand accuracy and the such but that kid is BRIGHT.

Robinson isnt having the best senior week at the bowl for practice as he keeps trying to be a QB. This kid is gonna slip to the 4th or 5th round. I really hope we pick him up/ 6'1 220. Muscle and strenght and speed. I think he could be better than randal el. I know all of you are saying, well we can try to get randel el in free agency. This kid can do the same things and will be a TON CHEAPER!!!!

It will be cheaper...he is going to be a late round pick if he is drafted at all. He has all the physical tools we would need out of utility receiver like that.

Randel El will hit the market and no telling what it would cost to get him. Anquan Bolidin was also a QB with a great set of physical skills and look at him. Hines Ward, also an athletic college QB.

I think we need to start drafting "football players"...people who can just play the game seem to make impacts. Michael Robinson is a football player.

This guy has the exact same physical build as Boldin and he's faster. Only thing is Boldin has great hands, and Robinson hasn't shown 'great hands' yet. He played receiver last year at PSU, so I am sure he can catch. The route running and blocking, that's what we pay Position Coaches big bucks to do, teach those techniques. I say take him, with one of the compensatory picks that we should get for Pierce or Smoot. HE can't contribute any less than Jared Newberry, Nehemiah Broughton, and Manuel White did.

I agree, I don't know what the heck Mel Kiper is talking about though. He says that he hasn't played enough at WR to play in the NFL. He was PSU's leading receiver last year.

He suggests safety as a position for the NFL. He has not played safety before?

I don't get Mel Kiper, I think sometimes his hair moose seeps into his brain and he makes silly comments. He has been prett inaccurate. Anyone can call the first round locks, but he has about as much ratio of accuracy as anyone else who watches college football has.

same i love that guy though hed be competiton/back up to jason campbell and he can play some WR

Mel Kiper is a fraud. He just regurgitates what he hears from other scouts.

If the guy is a good football player, then we have to think about drafting him, but not unless he drops below round three in my opinion. As has already been said, there is a benefit from drafting people who are just plain good footballers, and worry about the specifics of where and how they can help you later. That's what coaches are for.

While Robinson is a super athlete, it's a stretch to automatically assume he's another Randal El...I've seen a lot of college running QBs try their hand at other positions in the NFL and it doesn't work that often. Randel El has made the switch, no doubt.
