Well. This was a good season that really finsihed 10-6 and we made playoffs! This is a team for the future! We will be back!

What other positives do you all have for now?

Oh yeah... May God be with Sean Taylor's lawyer.

Only thing I can add is, this is the first time in a long while that the season ended and I was excited for what lies ahead. For way to long there were bigger question marks for this team beyond the football field. But coach Gibbs has brought stability and respect back to our team and we are building something real here!!

All in all im happy with the season. More than i expected and we're heading in the right direction. Next steps...

CUT: Taylor "10-90" Jacobs, and John Hall (I thought weeks ago we should have kept Novak. hall's leg just seems shot to me.)

Get a Legit #2 reciever, D line help, Some secondary help and an offensive lineman.

Oh.. And also very importantly... get home field advantage next year.

Gonna be a long frickin' 9 months though

Jacobs is signed through 2007 -- about 800K per year. I'd keep the guy, he has potential and WRs take a few years...

We did NOT lose because of Taylor Jacobs...I'd say, quit trying to find one guy who caused us to lose. We got beat by a better team TODAY. It wasn't meant to be...it was a great year - from 6-10 last year.

Keep most of these guys around, add some depth and get home field advantage next year...

Positives...

1) The bittersweet feeling of a January loss instead of a December letdown. The Skins made being a fan fun again.

God bless the Skins.

2) A new generation of Skins fans finally got to witnes real REdskins football, and, as a community, really supported the team.

3) The goal for next year has already been set: HFA in the playoffs for sure.

I have no complaints with this season. I am happy with what are team was able to accomplish in this fine season. I am looking forward to the draft cant wait to get some new talent in there. My beliefs are we are good but hey theres always room for improvement. SO heres my draft wish list 1.big posession reciever.2.Stud DE 3.Bruising left pulling guard 4. Stud Strong safety. I also would like to see Jason Campbell or P-Ram in at the Qb helm. We are set for the future. ITs still all good baby Hail to the Redskins.......

I'll agree only to disagree. God could care a less about football. Other than that..sure. I'll never admit to agreeing with him.

We need that Homefield next season. But yeah, everyone picked us to be in the cellar of the NFC East and we lasted the longest out of the NFC East. This season was a stepping stone, only year two of Gibbs II, a little taste of what is to come in the near future.

OK...I have to do this. You tell me that Alexander is knocked out of the gamne and we get 3 turnovers...I think automatic win...This loss can only be put on our offense and no others. Who "leads" the offense? Exactly...he needs to retire and help us out.

thanks to joe gibbs for reinstalling stability back into this franchise that desperately needed it.
now for this game way we had way too many chances but couldn,t score,
carlos could have made that pick thats 7 points there santana drops one in the end zone thats 7 more points right therejohn hall misses a field goal thats 3 points there thats a total of 17 points right
there that could have won us the football game.
the turning point was when alexander went out of the game it seemed to me.it seemed to work against the skins.but this is going to be an interesting offseason.another wr opposite santana.get some more pass rushers that can rush the passer.i could go on but certainly another punter wouldn,t hurt either.
another long offseason looms ahead you are right about that.

#1: HUMILIATING THE COWBOYS TWICE!!!
#2: going 10-6, making the playoffs and winning in the 1st round. these all brought us back to respectability as a franchise.
#3: continuity. gregg williams's contract extension is the single most important "offseason acquisition" (even though technically it happened during the season) we will have this year. it means the same great coach and scheme on defense next year. and it seems quite promising that GW will stick around to take over as head coach, ensuring some stability in the franchise for the forseeable future.

this has been a great year, and i'm thrilled. but we've got a lot of work to do and we all know some things we need to get a LOT better with. i'm excited about the offseason! i think we are only 2 or 3 starters away, which is HUGE. that should be easily taken care of. then of course we could use some more depth at a few positions. i have a hard time seeing us not being able to come into 2006 as a pretty dominant team.[/b]

I remember the playoffs in the 1999 season and the way we lost that game to Tampa on the botched snap. It was just too typical of our team back then. I remember after that game ended just sitting and shaking my head for a long long time. Even though we had made the playoffs that year, there was still a lingering sense of doubt whether the team would be able to build on that season and take it to the next level.

This time it is different. I have every reason to expect that we will be a better team next year.

And that it won't get blowed up.
