Did anyone hear the deal made by Sean Salisbury of ESPN radio? Yesterday on Mike & Mike in the morning, Sean Salisbury sat in for Mike Golic. Mike Greenberg brought up a comment that Sean had made earlier in the year. Before the 2005 season started, Sean and Joe Thiesman were on Quite Frankly w/ Steven A Smith talking about the upcoming season. Joe stated that he thought the Redskins would make the Super Bowl this year. Sean laughed and went on to say that he would walk naked from Bristol to D.C. if the Skins made the Super Bowl. Greenberg challanged Sean to uphold this comment. Sean said he would (accept the naked part cause its illegal

)
Note to Sean Salisbury - buy some good walking Shoes!!!!

Dang I must admit I had high hopes for this season but a SuperBowl never even crossed my mind before the season started. I predicted an 10-6 with a first round loss. But now looking at the Nfc and how are team is now man Its actually very possible. What a difference a year makes you da man Gibbs. As far as Joe thiesmans predictions wow what did he see that alot of others didnt. I know many of the fellow hogs here predicted SuperBowl but how many of you really meant it.

First of all Sean said he would walk if the Redskins made the playoffs, which they did. He should be walking, but now he is trying to back out of it saying it was the Superbowl.

ESPN should replay the tape! This was in reference to the playoffs! I dont care if he walks to work I just want him to admit he was wrong in his estimation of the Redskins and especially Gibbs. He can even indict all the other people for all I care!
Theisman was not really "picking" the Redskins to win the Super Bowl - he was just saying he thought that Joe Gibbs could get them to the Super Bowl. Same thing to most people but not to those of us who know Joe Gibbs and understand that there is nothing a man cannot do if he wants to do it bad enough.
Any questions?
Thank you Joe Gibbs and thanks to all who supported him through this incredible season.

Don't want to ruin it for yall but we do have to play the Seahawks before even thinking about the SB!

Actually on his official espn online picks he DID pick the skins to go to the super bowl.

I guess what I should have said that in "picking" the Redskins to win the Super Bowl, which he did, what he was leaving unsaid is that he knows that they will win because they have Joe Gibbs as their coach. Most people who think they know anything about the NFL and in reality know very little, pick those teams to win based on past records and the talent that is available or is added during the offseason. I think that Theisman picked the Redskins because he knew what Joe Gibbs is capable of winning everything with a group of under appreciated players who wen 6-10 the year before.
I just needed to ramble on about that!
It's really simple - we are going to win the Super Bowl (and very soon) because Joe Gibbs is still the best coach in the NFL.

Or, more insultingly, vice versa.

Nunyo is most surprising. I mean, he was always a little condescending...but I felt he was a fan.
Funny how a new job changes a guy.

THEY made me do it Joe. I did not do it. they made me do it.http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2006/w ... index.htmlFor the '04 regular season finale, I wrote an article about Gibbs' aura dissipating because of a mediocre year. The headline declared: "Luster is off the legend." A few days later, we crossed paths late at night in the team parking lot. The coach made a self-deprecating crack based on the article -- one of those jokes that masks being annoyed. I politely reminded Gibbs that reporters don't write headlines.
Somebody else does not like you and the Danny at the Post Joe. not me, not me.
Gutless coward!

I don't believe Coach has any idea who Nunyo Demasio is. Sure, he reads the papers...but Nunyo was more of a "recap" guy than an honest-to-goodness reporter. Johnny Come Lately, more like it.
Who the heck is he, even approaching Gibbs ?

Greenberg today picked the Skins to win just to watch Sean walk. That is a long walk, atleast he will lose a little weight.

Nunyo is still an idiot plus whoever did that headline!
Redskin in Canada wrote:.."Luster is off the legend." ..Gutless coward!

I mean even most of our posters could have pointed out that a "luster" is someone like Nonsense Nunyo who lusts after someone like Sally Jenkins"
The first year was not what we hoped but there is no way that Joe Gibbs has lost any of his previous lustre!
