Joke leads to eviction threat
A mum-of-three who kissed a female pal as a joke during a one-day cricket match in New Zealand was threatened with eviction, it has been revealed.

Richelle Fitzgibbon's "crime" was apparently to indulge in the act while being filmed live on national TV.

The issue has escalated in New Zealand, where one website interviewed gay Cabinet Minister Chris Carter.

He told stuff.co.nz: "This is about human rights. If opposite-sex couples can kiss, then same-sex couples can."

As the kiss was broadcast to a cheering crowd on the big-screen monitor in a match on Sunday, a security guard moved swiftly to stop the women.

They said he warned them they were distracting the crowd and could be thrown out if they did it again.

And it seems that other grounds would adopt a similar policy.

Westpac Stadium Trust chief executive David Gray said if similar behaviour happened in Wellington security staff would be instructed to intervene "as a matter of policy."

He added: "We would not accept that that's something that should be broadcast on the screen. At a family stadium it's not appropriate and we would instruct our operators accordingly."

Fitzgibbon, 29, said the kiss was just a bit of fun. Her boyfriend had watched and laughed.

"I have nothing against gay people, but, you know, I prefer men," she told 3 News.

"It was just a bit of fun. We weren't hurting anybody."

I wonder (a) if tongue was involved and (b) if she had kissed her boyfriend the same way, would it have been a problem.

I doubt if she kissed her b/f that it would have been noticed. I think since it was two ladies doing it that it caught someones eye.

That is not the kind of reaction I would expect from New Zealand!

See, that's what I was thinking. A nice trip to NZ, some hot girl-on-girl action, and a nice international line on your CV.

I would punish this the same way I'd have punished those cheerleaders in the bathroom stall ... with champagne and soft pillows and digital video
