Redskins cannot possibly win! (Over confident media)

I am so sick of hearing this BS. Shannon Sharpe is a player in the NFL, you think he'd be smart enough to look deeper then the last game to find his answers for whose going to win this weekend. I over estimated him apparently.
Washington and Seattle play Saturday night and this one could be over early. A team that has 120 total yards cannot expect to win a playoff game, yet the Redskins did. No one talks about the Seahawks, but they won 13 games and have the league MVP -- Shaun Alexander. They are solid on both sides of the ball and are the top team in the NFC.
What the ding bat fails to mention is the difference in our schedules. Or the fact that the last game was played against the number one defense in the league. These analysts really floor me. I'm a girl who has only been closely following football for a number of years, they do this for a living and get paid to follow it, yet cannot put together an educated response as to who is going to win the game.

Did he or did he not play on a team that previously held the record for the lowest offense output by a winning playoff team ('00 Ravens). Did he or did he not winning a superbowl with that team. I'll leave it at that.

Yes, yes, yes we all know that eveybody is not giving us a chance to win the game. Every NFL show higly favors the Hawks. This has been mentioned a million times on this board. Eveybody just deal with it for 5 more days and we'll have our day in the sun come Saturday afternoon. just be patient and deal with all the negative Skins crap! Gibbs will show all the experts, how much they really know!

It was actually so bad that I made Scott turn the t.v off last night. Usually while we are going to bed ESPN or NFL network stays on very low. I kept hollering at the stupid people on there from Sean Taylor to our being over rated. If it wasn't turned off I would have gotten no sleep.
I'm sorry I'm complaining skinsRn but I just need to get it out.

You go girl! Man I hope our guys have that same level of intensity this week.
I fully expect this to be a close game but I think we win because these guys are playing with slightly more desire than the teams we have faced.
These analysts are using all the familiar crutches to justify their existence. There is no way that anyone is going to win any game in the playoffs with that many yards in offense - BUT we did! This is a team that will come prepared to play with a purpose on offense and defense and while I do not think that we will win by a huge amount I would be very surprised if we lost by a big score also. This is not some lay down, low effort team like we saw from the giants last week - this is Gibbs and Williams and the Seahawks better give us their A game - anything less and they can go get into their raingear or whatever else they wear out there because they won't need their uniforms till Spring practice.

you go girl, i don,t blame you for venting at all.
everybody seems to think we didn,t have a gameplan but like you said maybe tampa had alot to do with that as well.everything from the taylor incident to the no offense they can,t get enough can they. they talk so much to know so little.

As I have posted before, Shannon Sharpe has no business being on t.v. talking about anything. The guy has no insight and sounds like an idiot every time he opens his mouth. Anyone not in a coma recognizes that, except apparently CBS executives. But, that's the world we live in. Although we benefit from having access to sports analysis 24/7, we end up hearing a lot of less talented "analysts" because the talent level cannot meet the demand.

... and all the while, Joe Gibbs sits in his office laughing fiendishly...
Bwahahahahahahaha!!! sinister trailing laugh
Get used to it people. JG is a sand-bagger. He can beat ya 63-0, look you square in the eyes and tell you it was a tough game... the media have this impression because they're supposed to. It's why the Redskin greats rarely get the recognition they deserve... they were all too busy telling everyone how much they sucked while they steam-rolled over the opposition... and the media go with it.
Not that we steam-rolled the opposition last week or are the calibre of some of the past teams that I am referring to ('91 team especially)... but the principle is the same... we'll keep agreeing that we don't deserve to be there were it not for the 'outstanding efforts of 53 men'... and hopefully we'll keep on agreeing for 3 more games.
... who doesn't love being the underdog anyway?

Why is everyone giving Seattle so much credit for being such a "great" team? They played in a division where no other team had more wins than losses. St. Louis, Arizona and San Francisco are not powerhouses and in fact almost everyone loved to see them come to town because it was usually a win. Seattles opponents produced a total of 110 wins vs 146 losses. Not exactly the cream of the NFL or even middle of the road teams. Seattle lost to most of the teams they played that had a winning record.

I'm totally sick of hearing that the Redskins have no offense at all. They play one game against the #1 defense in the league and suddenly its like they can't possibly score touchdowns. They scored 30+ points the last three games of the season!!!! Against division rivals including including two playoff/just missed playoff teams!!!!!
We have the fourth leading rusher in the entire league, the fourth ranked TE, the second leading receiver and a QB who threw 3000+ yards and 23 TDs.
Analysts are so freaking irritating.

The only guys I've seen on TV pick us to win are that Skip guy and Eddie George.

I look at the point spread and I think Vegas gives us more respect than anyone else. Vegas doesn't make money by giving away money. They believe this game will be close. Look at it this way if we only had 120yards of offense against the #1 Defense and they gave us 3 and a half then it really isn't saying much about seattles offense.
Basically what I am saying is Vegas knows everyone thinks that seattle has the better team based on the one sided journalism that is coming out of major sources... heck all the sources, and they want themn to bet accordingly.

I kinda like being the underdog. If we lose, then it's just like everyone predicted, so what's the big deal, and when we win, then it becomes "in your face, idiots!"

Are you serious! Vegas is giving no respect! the line opened at 9 and went to 10 and now is is 9.5 that is alot of points in betting. The Colts are also a 9.5 favorite and they allready played Pitt once this year they killed'em. the 9.5 spread is a BIG spread in the playoffs cuz playoff teams are good teams, it's not like wer're the 49ers. Vegas does not think it will be a close game.

skins Rin, what I am saying is that Vegas doesn't loose money period... The house always wins so why would you listen to the place that wants your money... If vegas didn't respect us we would be getting 14+ easy...
3 points either way means its a tie advantage normally goes to the hometeam. 4-13 means its still a tossup but public opinon is for the favorite.
*Disclaimer* - I use this theory to play fantasy football and in my office pool (which is not for money in case my supervisors are looking at this) I won the fantasy football season in both leages and I have the best record in our office pool. I am not saying that I am an expert so using this theory is at your own risk *End Disclaimer* (and anyone wondering how I use which team will win and loose for fantasy football PM me and I will tell you)
And on the Indy game Indy is only giving 9.5 because they have had 5 weeks without a meaningful game and they are vunerable, and if the Steelers Team that played last weekend shows up in Indy then they can pull that one out as well. If Indy was 16-0 right now they would easily be 13+ point favorites. Once again Vegas doesn't loose and they rarely put themselves in a position to loose. So with public opinon against the skins if they win Vegas wins. Just read between the lines.

The media means nothing. If the media knew so much our team would be 0-16. But were not we are in the playoffs and vying for a superbowl birth. Just relax Our team had to play the number one defense in the league that is exactly what I expected our offense had a tough time rightfully so. But guess what our defense came to play as well. This game against seatle will be alot different there defense is not even close to what tampa is. This will be an interesting matchup. If shawn springs is playing and healthy I think we may be able to pull off a blowout. If our D shows up and our running game gets going I dont think it will even be close. But if alexander gets a decent game going then this one will be close. I see Seattle running alot then playaction so well just see what unveils this saturday. Lets go skins bring home the bacon baby.

That team went through the whole season with no offense...and yes..won the superbowl. I also think they carried a horseshoe the whole season...but...if they can do that...we can certainly slide by with one bad offensive performance against the number 1 defense. I doubt we'll see the same offense against the seahawks.
