OK, here goes. The Wild Card round.

Based on the final adjusted results of RiC's season-long Hognostications thread, I have divided the top 12 Hognosticators into two conferences, the HHC (Hogs Hognsoticating Conference) and the DHC (Dirtbags Hognosticating Conference).

Here are the seeds:

HHC:
1. 166 - 74 Redskin in Canada
2. 156 - 84 JSPB22
3. 152 - 88 Redeemed
4. 138 - 72 SkinsJock
5. 129 - 95 1niksdeR
6. 119 - 79 FanfromAnnapolis

DHC:
1. 160 - 80 Texas Hog
2. 157 - 83 joebagadonuts
3. 147 - 77 Chris Luva Luva
4. 137 - 73 Justice Hog
5. 125 - 81 skinz74
6. 108 - 72 Punu

So, up this week we have:

HHC:
Redskin in Canada - Bye
JSPB22 - Bye
FanfromAnnapolis Vs. Redeemed
1niksdeR Vs. SkinsJock

DHC:
Texas Hog - Bye
joebagadonuts - Bye
Punu Vs. Chris Luva Luva
skinz74 Vs. Justice Hog

Posters must pick not only the winners, but the point total for each game. In the event of a tie on wins, the closest point total in all games that week is the winner. Further ties will be handled with a PM game of Rock, Paper, Scissors.

Another thought:
Lower seeds should try to get their picks in as early as possible to give the higher seed the "home field advantage."
This is not mandatory, but would show good etiquette and sportsmanship.

Happy Hognosticating!

Aaaahhh! The pleasure of a first round bye in these THN playoffs. 8)

Given that I do not have to post a prediction this week, I will seat pretty and see the field thin out a little bit.

Posters are still reminded that this is a special THN playoff thread for posters that were seeded based on their year-long play in the Hognostications threads.

There is a normal Hognostications thread open to ALL posters new and old to post your regular weekly predictions. Follow this link to go there:

Can we have a clarification? The point total was called for not a team score. I presume that skinz74 understands that his "total" is the sum of the 2 teams as selected?

I am not trying to "run" anything here just clarifying the words "point total".

Please remember that posting in this thread does not guarantee that you are participoating in the other one. This thread needs winners -and- total points in head-to-head matchups. The other one only needs winners on a weekly basis and nobody is out week after week. So, do not forget to post on the other one ona weekly basis.

Anybody may post in this thread. I will even keep up with their scores as they compare to the "tremendous 12," but as RiC said, this is an unofficial tournament, and should not be confused with his, regular hognostication thread. That being said, only point totals for each game are required. You will not get extra credit for picking the exact score of the participants of each game.

So, do the points only come into play as a tie breaker? In other words, if Pitt wins do I automatically win my matchup with Red, and likewise if Cincy wins does he win the matchup?

Just curious. . .

The only person eliminated so far is 1niksdeR. Points are only used to break ties for same number of correct picks.

As we go to the 4th quarter,
Redeemed, Chris Luva Luva, and Justice Hog all lead their respective games, but either side could still win the contest. SkinsJock has jumped out to an insurmountable lead, and is taking a knee when he has the ball.

So he did! Well Punu, I guess you are gone. That's the problem with giving a final score, rather than just total points.
