Come on guys. Let's get focused

The mood around here is compleley wrong and everybody needs to get focused and everybody needs to get focused right now. Not later today not tommorow not in a few days, right now.
We got articles about unhappy players (which I believe is total BS), we got people who think this is a trap game, and we got people who beleive we're already in the playoffs.
All of these attidudes need to be thrown out the window right now.
I'll start with Elkin or whatever his name is righting these garbage articles to try to seperate us. He doesn't want to see us winning.
So what does he do? He comes out with an article like this to take our focus away from us to seperae the fans, and the team.
He just like everybody else even associated with the league knows that we are starting to stronger than ever.
Come on guys the media has been disrespecting our fans our players, coaches, team, and owner for the past 6 years. And what are we going to do we're going to start paying these guys the respect to beleive every single line of Bull they put on a piece of paper.
NO. We're better than that. Forget Elfin his article and every other thing any Media person has to say about the skins. This aint about them it's about us and sticking together.
He's trying to take away what we've built this year which is a team on the way to the playoffs. This is his last ditch effort to distract the team so we won't be ready to go sunday, and so we will miss the playoffs.
Forget the Washington times and Elkin. I'm not even going to let this consume a single moment of my tome or brain power.
I'm done with that and you should be too. Put it out of your mind Don't take it with you past this second.
As for this Sunday there are some on this board who don't have their minds right for this game.
I'm going to say this And remember this. Do not believe that we are cursed so something bad has to happen and do not believe this is just an easy game. WE have togo out and do this and we need every body to believe that we can do this. That's the only way we can get in.
Before I asked you guys how bad do you want this? I know I want it bad.
And if you want it as bad as I do you'll put all these distractions out of your mind and get your mind right for this game.
I know I want this. Who else wants it?

I'm with you man. You speak the truth. If you're going to the game, make sure you represent for the washington faithful. People aren't used to us playing well, and they are used to making ridiculous articles up and using BS to try to slander us and exacerbate the little things to try to tear us apart. I'm with 0-16-16-0, and I'll reiterate his last statement. I know I want this. Who else wants it?

I don't think you can blame the reporter or any reporter for that matter for just doing his job and writing stories of interest unless something he wrote was a lie. Which none of it was.
Someone in LA's position should lead by example and bite his toungue, you don't see Patrick Ramsey complaining. TRADE Lavar if you can and definately don't reward his bad behavior, how much is he due next season? It doesn't matter he's not worth it. I get the feeling Lavar Arrington's favorite all time nfl player is Lavar Arrington, that's why he's the only person IN THE FREAKING SANE WORLD that would mention his name in the same breath as a Brett Farve or Ray Lewis...I swear when I read that I wished LA's agent would say to him what Jerry Maguire told Rod Tidwell "Those players you mentioned lavar, their marquee players" maybe once he was marquee but not ne more this dude is dilluted and if it distracts the team that's really gonna tick me off more than I already am at this loser, trade him, he hits like a truck but not as hard as lewis and definately doesn't have the leadership quality that the great one's have.

You don't know if the reporter took what he said out of context, we don't know if it's a lie or not. We don't even no how long the interview took weather it was done all in one day was it the combination of a group of interviews.
What reporters write isn't always the truth and what they write isn't always a lie. We have to read it for what it is worth.... A article some writer and editor figured would sell papers.

Yeah, focused is definately the word. I live up here in Philly, and the game has been talked about a lot, not just on the radio, but at workplaces, etc. The Eagles fans, and I am sure the players, would want nothing more than to "hurt" the Redskins chances of making the playoffs. I am more worried about this game in Philly, than any game we would encounter in the playoffs, be it in Chicago or Seattle. I feel that right now, things are clicking, and the team is playing as a team. I feel that the way we have played recently, I believe we could be anyone in the NFL. But, we cannot look past this game, and I know that the Redskins players want the playoffs more than anything, as do us fans. LET'S GO REDSKINS!!!

Some people are just happier being miserable. They'll never stop whining (apparently).
... and that includes reporters.
Personally, I think it's a shame. There's a lot for Redskin fans to be happy for right now.
Their misery only seems to make my joy that much more intense though. I guess it's a matter of perspective.

For real, BH, let's not let one silly article ruin what has been an awesome season so far. Enjoy it now, don't let some bitter reporter succeed in making you upset. He's probably a closet Giants fan who just can't stand us being happy about anything.
This is an awesome time to be a Redskins fan! I'm personally really excited to see what's going to happen and I'm not going to let this bastard get me down. This season has already been more than I could have ever dreamed for. Soak it all up while you have a chance!

It isn't this article or the reporter who wrote it... to be honest, I never give what the media writes too much creedence.
It's mostly the 'fans' I was referring to...

I think most of you here know how I feel about the media and I agree with Boss in that there are still a lot of us here that are not enjoying this for what its worth.
This is the last week of the regular season people!
We are playing against a division rival in a game that means we are in the playoffs!
I think a lot of us would have trouble remembering the last time that we were in this situation. Not in the playoffs, but where the last game meant this much.
I am so excited about this and am very grateful.
Thanks be to Gibbs!

Not to be a jerk, but what does our focusing have to do with anything? We won't be the ones playing on Sunday.
I agree that there is alot to happy about. But, our mood has nothing to do with what happens in the clubhouse, and what will happen in Philly on sunday!

Probably right, but its fun to think it does matter (especially the more superstitious of us).
As for me, I'm staying focussed and will have my "miracle shot" at hand.

Just in case!

Fans have got to do prep work, too! Got your beer & chips? Bought fresh batteries for the remote? Programmed the pizza guy on speed-dial? Has your favorite 'skins shirt been washed and ironed?!? Checked your supply of face-paint?!? Focus, man, focus!!!

I just got really mad when I looked on here and saw about 50 posts attacking one of our own players in a game this crucial and taking some idiots word and believing it over one of our own. Even after they constantly bash us.
Obviously focus is not required for us to win. BUt I think we should ignore that article and take it with a grain of salt.

As one of the idiots, I'm standing my ground and saying that Lavar should've known that this was not the time to be dragging his issues back into the limelight. For a man who's
suppposed to be so smart, he really stepped in it. "I renegotiated my contract for the team, but I wouldn't do it now" ?
Really. Don't get sunburned by that spotlight, Lavar.
Oh, and as far as attacking "one of our own"...
let me steal a line from Rambo.
He drew first blood.

I wasn't saying you and the other people who believe this guy were idiots. I said this guy was an idiot. Don't get me wrong LaVar wasn't 100% innocent in this either, but from what I've heard some of these quotes were compiled over the whole season (including the time in which he was benched).
LaVar should have never said anything and this guy should have never put out an article like this right before the most important game in recent history.

While LaVar is at fault he's not the one that printed that article. That Elfin guy must have it out for us with diverting the teams, and fan's attention to this article and LaVar's ongoing drama with management. Why is it that stuf like this happens to us?. We're one of the hottest teams in the NFL(If not THE hottest)and we have this crap looming over our heads so close to one of our biggest game in recent history. I don't like it one bit.

Come on, now...Elfin doesn't necessarily have it out for us. He's trying to make a name for himself ! Of course his article gets a lot of attention, because of the topic and the timing. That's how you get ahead in a job like his, if you're desperate. I mean, look at the facts. Everybody else if putting out either "I told you so" or "I was wrong" articles, right ? Human interest stories about charities and so forth aren't big eye-catchers right now, right ? He knew what he was doing, but not necessarily for the purposeful detriment of the team. More than likely, he thought he had a great scoop- and exclusive interview with arguably the most popular athlete in DC sports today, and had lots of juicy quotes that were not disputed in any way, shape or form.
Guess what ? It worked to perfection. His name is out there now in a big way. With any luck, he'll follow Nunyo to SI and we won't have to deal with him anymore.
Here's my point, once again. Lavar is no dummy. Your argument kinda assumes he's a babe in the woods. He had to know what was coming with all those tidbits he threw out there. He didn't deny a single one of them...just the "tone of the article". That's a mea culpa, if I ever heard one.
Arrington made a mistake. I hope it doesn't cost him playing time (The Clemons injury, etc.) and when he is out there...I hope he's a friggin' beast.
He owes us at least that now.
