Two players away....

....from complete domination!
I really think that we are just two guys short of a truly dominating team. Our depth has really increased during Gibbs II era, but could stand to be better overall. Still, I think that we are two starters from a Superbowl!
I think we need one stud Pass Rusing DE, and another Receiver to be truly dominant. That other reciever could be a WR or a TE.

Make your look-alike pick.
WRs
Bobby Mitchell, Art Monk, or Gary Clark.
DEs
Charles Mann, Dexter Manley.
Somehow, I think the right people in these positons are going to come to us because they will want to play for Joe Gibbs. I can not tell if they will come through the draft, a trade or free agency but it will happen.
Interestingly, both will have to come at VERY reasonable prices.

What is our Cap situation next year? I would think it would be pretty good! We just ate and finally swallowed alot of dead cap space.
The thing is I don't know if I would rather have a WR, or a TE? I can't imagine this team with

ey, Moss, and a Todd Heap caliber TE! But I'll go WR since we need the depth. I'm only slightly suprised that Moss was this good, but I'm really suprised that he hasn't been injured! We don't have depth at WR so thats where my vote would go.
We still need to improve our depth at WR, CB, and both lines.

Good post, I agree. I'd like to see a good #2 wr acquired in free agency rather than via the draft. Maybe find a good defensive player or another guy for the o-line in the first round?
Anybody think Eric Moulds would be a nice addition alongside Moss? I know there are some issues about his personality.

how about we sign Abraham from the Jets and use our 2nd round pick to go after a big WR. We need a possession type WR who we can just throw it up there and let him outreach the corners. Gibbs will find some stud with great hamds who we have never heard of Im sure. Abraham has stayed healthy this whole year which was the knock on him and i know as of a couple weeks ago he had 10 sacks. With him and a nice big receiver I agree that I think we would dominate. I wouldnt mind some more depth at O Line though since I assume Ray Brown is not coming back for his 250th season!

trade for abraham, and then hope that samardzhja (sp??) falls to the second round. he is a beast and at 6'5" can still outrun most corners, albeit in college. still, he could be a threat and could take a lot of pressure off moss.

A young wr draft prospect is Hank Baskett, 6-4, 220 lbs., Univ. New Mexico, 4.4 - 4.5 in pads. And plays on punt block teams.

No first round pick, remember?
Reggie Wayne won't be signing for the Skins. He will want a lot of money, and he'll want to go somewhere where he can be a legit #1 receiver (if he's happy being #2, he'd stay with the Colts, who actually can afford to give him a decent contract). With Moss on our team, no way Wayne thinks he'd be a #1 in Washington.
I also read a story in a print media (forget which one..SI or ESPN) that Samardzija loves playing in South Bend and won't go pro this year.

Yeah, one player, take away Walt Harris and we probably would have had at least two more wins on our record...

There is no reason Two receivers cannot excell in the same offense. Look at our receivers in the past they all excelled together. Even now in this day in age Boldin and Fitzgerald get along fine sharing plays. There is always hidden talent in the draft I know we can pick up help in the D line. We will be fine for the upcoming years.

I don't understand all of your hatred for Walt Harris. He has also made several good plays alongside his few missed tackles.
I'd love to get R. Wayne. I don't know what our cap situation is and whether we could afford him. I don't want to see John Abrahamin a Skins uniform. I think that guy is a self-important non-team player who will negatively effect our team. Plus, he's getting old and hes often injured.
