Chris Clemons, according to NFL Network, is on IR. That will definately hurt us come playoff time if we make it.

I'd say Griffin is the best pass rusher but that's just me, losing Clemons is a blow

Yep.
Clemons Placed On IR
Some moves were made on the practice squad as well.

I think Washington is our best pass rusher, losing Clemons hurts tho.
Will LaVar stay in on 3rd down now?

I think that he will be placed in the down position.

Wait, if he's on IR does that mean he can't play in the Post Season too?

I was.
I think considering the fact he is our only true situational pass rusher, we'll feel this in an extended playoff shootout if we enter one.
Unless Arrington starts playing DE again, I think we should shift Wynn inside for Salave'a and put Demetric Evans at his end spot on passing down when we use four down lineman.
On three man lines, um. Arrington is really the only guy we could put at end.

Well, initially, Clemons was in to spell LaVar.
Barring an injury to Arrington, I'd say we're not in such bad shape.
Depthwise, though...we're suddenly thin in yet another spot on D.
Getting a little worrisome. Curiously, we didn't replace him through waivers.

air hog -- IR ends your season...even post-season, unfortunately.
LeVar can do what he does -- and I believe he'll do it better.

We'll see....he has had a bit of trouble shedding blocks. Hopefully we can keep the bodies off of him.

That's been LaVar's Achilles heel...he looks surprised when somebody gets in his way.
He really needs somebody else to do the dirty work so he can go in and kill somebody.

That could be due to a loss of strength from not being able to condition himself properly. Hopefully he can return to form with a healthy offseason.

C'mon, now. LaVar is never gonna be 100% ever again. He never was all that he could've been. I don't know what it is with him. "Reckless abandon" comes to mind. I like him because he never takes a play off, but I dislike him because he never took US to the "play offs".
Just being stupid. Sorry.

I hear & feel your pain TC, but I think we will see a "better" LaVar next year on a team that is finding itself. I have a feeling that we are going to be a bigger force on D next year.
It's a shame that it's almost over but really this season has all been about getting better! We had so much work to do at so many positions! There has been so much improvement and now we are back in the the top echelon again. This year there are a number of teams that started strong and then faded, some that started bad and came on but really are not an improvement but we are much better and next year - look out!

Actually, he's nearing that time in the average LB's age where he's on that plateau.
You rock or you don't. Not many late-bloomers at the position.

I can't wait to see LA play more.
He has to be accounted for and he can open up things for other players.

I think its the other way around. I think that people need to open up stuff for him and then he becomes a menance.

Yup, they're called "The San Diego Chargers".

Well other than for the sake of making a stupid comment, what is your rationale?
I'll tell you what... you tell me the finances involved in making that come to pass, and I won't look at it as just another completely empty, worthless post.

Chris Clemons is our best pass rusher?
huh?
Love the guy... has a lot of speed and is great in CERTAIN SITUATIONS, but...
He has two sacks in 14 games.
I'm just curious what makes him the best pass rusher that we have?
Is it homer potential? :-"

I'll take Phil Daniels as our best for now. He's finally healled up and playing his butt off. He's a BIG dude who's played through pain. Now he's feeling near %100 - and he's been a monster!
As for LaVar, I don't think he's going anywhere - because of the contract. Plus, he too is playing much better, with less pain. He's got a chance to reclaim his All-World status vs. Philly and beyond. Big games are his venue, I think he'll make a pivotal play in Philly.

Name me anyone this year who has been a better situational pass rusher for us. Wynn has like 2 sacks and Daniels had one game, so they don't count. Considering the fact our DEs are good run stuffers and can't rush the passer, Clemons has been very valuable and I doubt you can argue his use in his role.

Like I said, great in certain situations. If you ONLY play a guy to pass rush (that's all he's called on to do), I would hope that you have some success.
I like the guy, he's definitely a situational player... but as far as being a pass rusher... the odds are kind of stacked in your favor when you only line up on 3rd and long and blitz.
I don't think GW is losing sleep over the loss and I'm not going to either.

Other than his reportedly saying so?
