Not when Newman shoved him backwards. Overall he had a decent game but Im tired of seeing DB's shove him around. Someone needs to beat him with a stick to get his aggession higher.

Yeah Dockery is too soft.

He's got great size and potential, but he needs a mean streak.

You know me!! Here's how I saw it. Newman saw him coming and being much quicker he almost got out of the way ... but Dockery made sure he got a piece of him (shoulder). Naturally, Dockery lost his balance but because he got a shoulder the guy spun whence Betts bowled him over from behind. The block was not a pancake but it was very effective and sprang the runner. Great job by Dockery to get out there in position to make the play and then to get a piece of the much smaller and much faster man. I am sure he was praised on Monday for that play. I saw a couple of great cut-off blocks by him too where Thomas and he pulled and he cut off the guy shooting straight up field through the whole Thomas left which allowed the play to work. I saw the left guard for the Cowgirls get a false start in the same situation cuz it's a tough block to make and he left a little early.

Not saying you're wrong but this is what I saw.

For the 2nd time that I have witnessed, DD has let a DB get the better of him.

Newman weighs 190 lbs
DD weighs 345 lbs

Praised? I wouldn't praise him for that but thats just me. I would expect Dockery to get out there and PANCAKE a DB. We expect him to pancake a lineman dont we? I expect him to pancake Newman and keep going to spring Betts even further.

What does Newmans quickness have to do in this situation? Nothing. Dockery didn't even hardly drop his shoulder to DELIVER punishment. He's always on the receiving end of punishment. When I played football my coach always said not to let the defender always punish you, you need to punish him also! DD isnt where he needs to be.

Quite hardly in my opinion. I have been less than impressed with him all year.

One play that will stick out in my mind is him pulling out and getting just LEVELED by Shawne Merriman. Dockery outweighs him by at least 70 pounds.

Exactly. DD has sooo much potential and who the heck knows wut is stopping him. He is as big as a house and shockingly quick for his size but he gets mowed down by people half his size. Im 140lbs wet and I know darn well that I could knock that softy on his butt because Im more of an aggressive player that he is.

Isn't that right Jake? Forreal though, Im sorry about that, I didn't do it on purpose. :(

Speaking of which, I finally got to speak with him about me talking to him after he broke his leg in 1992. He's not as bad as the deaf guy I usually see every week.

Back on topic. Dockery is an underachiever.

Well ... I heard both Gibbs and Bugel praise him on TV while talking to George Michael and Sonny.

I would expect Dockery to get out there and PANCAKE a DB.

Bugel doesn't expect that. He just needs his interior linemen to get a piece of a DB when pulling.

We expect him to pancake a lineman dont we?

We (Bugel and I) expect him to pancake smaller men when they
TAKE HIM ON. DBs don't take him on. They try to avoid him. I did see him pancake a linebacker who took him on.

I expect him to pancake Newman and keep going to spring Betts even further.

Again, Bugel doesn't expect that.

What does Newmans quickness have to do in this situation? Nothing.

Oh pah-leez. You may know a lot about a lot but quickness has EVERYTHING to do with it! I repaet my challenge - run into a barn an try to pancacke the nearest chicken. You can't. He's too quick! In fact, you would do very well to get a piece of him.

Dockery didn't even hardly drop his shoulder to DELIVER punishment.

Naturally. He's is coached NOT to drop his shoulder in that situation. He's coached to make the smaller quicker man commit so that Dock can then get a piece of him. The DB actually committed at the last second and because Dock did his job and didn't lunge early he clipped the guy on the shoulder and spun him around whence Betts ran him over.

He's always on the receiving end of punishment.

Simply not true.

When I played football my coach always said not to let the defender always punish you, you need to punish him also!

Generally speaking this is true. But trying to punish a smaller quicker man in the open field is suicide. He got a peice of the guy and it was key to the success of the play.

DD isnt where he needs to be.

He was EXACTLY WHERE HE NEEDED TO BE ON THAT PLAY.

If you want to say the guy sucks then by all means, go ahead. But please don't argue from silly positions like "what does quickness have to do with the situation" and so on. Fact is, Gibbs and Buges both pointed out that he had a "great game."

He praised Mark Brunell last year, your point is?

DarthMonk wrote:Bugel doesn't expect that. He just needs his interior linemen to get a piece of a DB when pulling.

Get me a quote on wut he expects, this is not fact.

DarthMonk wrote:We (Bugel and I) expect him to pancake smaller men when they

All Im saying is that when he is engaged with a DB head on he should get the better of the ordeal and he hasn't in most situations. I know a DB is faster than him but if they both have their arms locked on to each other there is no way he should lose, ever.

DarthMonk wrote:Again, Bugel doesn't expect that.

Again, find me a quote.

DarthMonk wrote:Oh pah-leez. You may know a lot about a lot but quickness has EVERYTHING to do with it! I repaet my challenge - run into a barn an try to pancacke the nearest chicken. You can't. He's too quick! In fact, you would do very well to get a piece of him.

Im sure I said it in the last post, if not Ill say it now. Im not talking about open field, Im talking about instances when he has been engaged with a DB and has got beat. Im not talking about when their is 5 yards of space inbetween them.

DarthMonk wrote:Naturally. He's is coached NOT to drop his shoulder in that situation. He's coached to make the smaller quicker man commit so that Dock can then get a piece of him. Point taken. You're not refrencing the game Im talking about. In the past 2 games he's done decent. When I made my comment I was reffering to agame where he was ENGAGED with a DB and was pushed to the ground.

DarthMonk wrote:Simply not true.

From wut I see he's not aggressive and Im not the only one who sees that. I look at Randy Thomas and see agression. I look at Dockery and see a little flower.

DarthMonk wrote:He was EXACTLY WHERE HE NEEDED TO BE ON THAT PLAY.

Yes, on that play. You're reffering to a play that Im not.

Like I said, you and I are talking about 2 different situations. Your game is more recent than the one Im talking about it. Gibbs saying someone had a great game means nothing because he'll never put down anyone on his team. Buges said DD would be our best linemen....yea ok that hasn't happened. DD sucks but he has seemed to improve over the season. When I made my initial post he was doing horribly. Of course since he's improved since then its easy to argue against my post. Thats fine. He still had 10,000 false starts, he's still the weakest link in the line and he still got pushed down by a DB against the Rams I think but I can't remeber.

Dockery is just a guy. Big, but just a guy.

What deaf guy ? :)

Warren. He always ignores anyone who calls out his name and walks back to the parking lot like there were no fans around.

I'm sorry that Donnie was a dick, Jake...but, hey- when you make it big, you'll remember the little guys.
