According to NFL.com, Chris ey was the leading fan vote getter at FB. How in the heck is just an alternate? I'm irked if that's the case.

What a rip - Taylor and Marcus Washington and Springs should have made it. ey and Portis as well. I guess you cant have an all Skins team but there are 5 at least that a pro-bowlers.

Maybe Chris Samuels got the alternate spot and Chris ey got in.

First off, where is Jake? I need to view his celebrating over Samuels.

Second, Sean Taylor and Marcus Washington not making it is crap.

I'm glad samules is going, he deserves it, and it was obvious that moss would go. But taylor and washington should be there, not just alternates.

ey really isn't a 'fullback', at least not in the traditional sense (has he ever rushed the ball?). NFL.com lists him as a TE, and that's essentially what he does, even if the 'skins call him an "H-back". The fact he plays a strange hybrid position probably hurt him in the Pro Bowl selection voting. He's similar to Westbrook w/ the Eagles; he plays a position in a manner not found on a lot of other teams.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. I guess its magic, ey was the leading vote getter at FB and somehow didnt win. Sounds like the Presidental election all over again.

I agree that he isn't a fullback, but he was listed as a fullback on the ballot and was listed as the leading vote getter at the position in the NFC. His stats are better than most fullbacks because he is a hybrid, which is why it is puzzling to see him listed as an alternate.

I agree Ric and I think JansenFan hits it on the head with the fact it's just a "popularity contest"

Congratulations to Moss and Samuels but this defense deserves a lot more:
#1 Pass defense in completion percentage
#2 Rush defense in 1st downs allowed
#3 Total D in 1st downs allowed per game
#6T Total D in yards allowed per play
#7 Total D in yards allowed per game

This is just part of the "agenda".

Again - kudos to those who were recognised but there should have been more recognition given to our defensive players as well. These guys deserve better IMO.

Well when we had the 3rd best defense only one player amde it. Moss was going, not doubt about that, but I thought Portis was going to be behind Alexander and Barber.

You guys are right, it is just a popularity contest.

We just have to win(which we are) and keep winning.

Remember last year, almost all of Philly's secondary made the team. They all suck except Dawkins. Sellars might have something to say about that though.

Why were so many players from Green Bay selected? Are they really talented or something? Call me an idiot, but who the heck is William Henderson? And I'll eat my shoes if Ahman Green is better than Portis this year.

Chris Samuels did not have a Pro Bowl caliber season and made it on reputation.

Sean Taylor is the best safety in the NFC, and maybe the best in the NFL with Ed Reed injured for much of this season, and him not going to the Pro Bowl is ridiculous. It's totally unfair that Roy "I've been beat for more TDs this year than any safety in the NFL" Williams gets to go over Taylor just b/c McNabb gift wrapped the easiest TD of his life for him on Monday Night Football.

Chris ey should be on the ballot with the TEs, but since he's not I don't see how any other FB beat him out. I went to the Bucs website and they list Ronde Barber, Derrick Brooks, and Josh Bidwell as their Pro Bowlers. No mention of Alstott.

Marcus Washington has had a great season and its a shame that he probably isn't going.

Lots of credit being given to Atlanta. Despite a 8-6 record just like ours, they get 6 Pro Bowlers including Brooking beating out Washington, Dunn beating out Portis, and Hall beating out Springs. I know I wouldn't trade our 3 guys for their 3.

Taylor and Roy don't play the same position.
I can maybe see Dawkins getting the nod over Taylor, but who else is there?

That's not exactly true.


The Pro Bowl generally takes one starting strong safety and one starting free safety, while taking just one backup safety, from either position. Therefore, all the safeties are competing against each other.

For example:

Last year's NFC Pro Bowl team started Brian Dawkins at free safety and Michael Lewis at strong safety, while the great FS Roy Williams was the lone backup safety on the team. The AFC team started Ed Reed at strong safety, and John Lynch at free safety, with SS Troy Polamalu as the lone backup.

They may not play the same exact position, but they are competing with each other for a roster spot in the Pro Bowl.

I'm not sure who did make it but it wasn't Dawkins. Trotter is the Eagles lone Pro Bowler.

Mike Brown made it so there's another safety position, and Lance Briggs made it taking up one of the OLB spots. Hard to argue with Bears defensive players making the team considering how dominating they have been on that side of the ball. I am stunned that DE Alex Brown didn't make the team though. From what I've seen he's the best player on the team.

OK now I see why Brown didn't go.


The Giants got both Michael Strahan and Osi Umenyiora on the team.
