Friday Five: Gettin' to know you...

I have seen this done on other message boards as a simple way to get to know your fellow community members. So, I figured I would try it here, with a Thanksgiving Day theme:

1. With Whom did you spend Thanksgiving Day?
Non-Americans: Were you at work, school or home on Nov.24?

2. Did you watch Football? Did you play Football?

3. For What are you most Thankful?

4. Did you watch any parades? (In person, or on t.v.)

5. If you celebrate x-mas, when do you put up your decorations?

We had a little Thanksgiving at home just Scott, Jackson, and I. It was lovely.

2. Did you watch Football? Did you play Football?

We watched football, both games. I was pulling for Detroit but the second game I was glad to see go my way.

3. For What are you most Thankful?

The special people in my life, my family and my friends. It makes everything else in life sweeter to have these people to share it with.

4. Did you watch any parades? (In person, or on t.v.)
We watched the Macy's parade. We were actually supposed to go but Scott was sick so we decided to skip it this year. Glad we did because being the sharing person that he is, he passed along his sickness to me.

5. If you celebrate x-mas, when do you put up your decorations?
As soon as Scott will let me. lol I would have put them up yesterday and gotten a tree today but he likes to wait. I may be able to sneak up a few little things but the major decorating will probably be next week or the following week.

1) my family - wife, step-son, new born son :), mom, sister, in-laws (ate way too much)

2) played catch with my step-son, watched very little of the Lion game (hard to get too interested in a Lion game); did watch the later part of the puke's loss :)

3) my family, particularly my new first born son

4) no parades

5) after we find the time to take down the Thanksgiving decorations; we just took down the Halloween decorations on Tuesday ;)

Mom, grandma, 2 sisters, niece, brother-in-law with special guest appearances by 3 of one of my sisters friends, my cousin, his girlfriend and their son.

2. Did you watch Football? Did you play Football?

A little of both.

3. For What are you most Thankful?

Being alive and having the oppurtunity to control my own destiny.

4. Did you watch any parades? (In person, or on t.v.)

For about 10 seconds.

5. If you celebrate x-mas, when do you put up your decorations?

My mom's doing it now.

The wife and family friends

2. Did you watch Football? Did you play Football?

Part of the 2nd game.... All of the Overtime

3. For What are you most Thankful?

Life and health of my family and friends

4. Did you watch any parades? (In person, or on t.v.)

Have been watching less and less as the years go, don't recall seeing anything about the parades - outside of the incident with the light pole in NY.

5. If you celebrate x-mas, when do you put up your decorations?

As late as Chuki will let me get away with it

Myself when taz was at work and then taz.

Non-Americans: Were you at work, school or home on Nov.24?
Work/home

2. Did you watch Football? Did you play Football?
Watched some of the two games and no, I did shovel some snow though. :explode:

3. For What are you most Thankful?
Taz.

4. Did you watch any parades? (In person, or on t.v.)
Nope.

5. If you celebrate x-mas, when do you put up your decorations?

Oh there's the reasoning! Taz wants justification for putting up the xmas decorations... shhh, everyone tell her you put them up on the 20th of December...

My guess is we'll be putting them up real soon.

A belated Happy Thanksgiving to all my buddies across the pond. Cheers. -drinking

1) At work, enjoying the thrill of another month-end. This accountant's lot was not a happy one on Thanksgiving.

2) Only dose of football was making a few posts on THN. And trying to get my NFL Field Pass to work - unsuccessfully.

3) Today, I'm thankful that it's Friday, and the Cowboys lost. But normally, I'm just thankful for the joy that life brings.

4) Parades? Let me tell you, if anybody starts parading around these parts, we soon tell them to keep the noise down, and go and parade in their own back garden. Don't appreciate exhibitionists around here.

5) Anytime we darn well feel like it.

1. With Whom did you spend Thanksgiving Day?

Went out to dinner with my parents. It was quite nice.

2. Did you watch Football? Did you play Football?

I watched the very early part of the Lions game and the 4th quarter and O.T. of the Cowboys game.

3. For What are you most Thankful?

I am thankful for where I am in life right now. Could be much much worse.

4. Did you watch any parades? (In person, or on t.v.)

No, not a parade guy.

5. If you celebrate x-mas, when do you put up your decorations?

Whenever BossHog wants to come to my house and put some decorations up, that's when they're going up . . . and not before.

Same people Jake spent the day with

Madison wanted to watch Barney...so we skipped the Detroit game but did catch some of (the most important part of the Cowpies game).

My family, my friends, my boss and his wife, and my job. Also thankful that Jake unloaded and reloaded the dishwasher for me.

We watched part of the Macey's parade.

Yes....put up the small tree and did some decorating today. Still lots to do....but will do some every chance I get. I love to have the house all decorated - inside anyway...not too into the Outdoor decorations.

1) I was slaving over my desk at work thanks, us civil servants work very hard really. 8) Spent most of the evening from 8-12 with the wife.

2) Well, I played if soccer counts????? And I watched the Lions get beat on, but I did enjoy the circus catch by Roy Williams nice to see him keep his eye on the ball and I watched Denver beat on the Boys.

3) Always thankful for staying injury free and my wife's health.

4) No parades over here, except when this country actually wins something which has been a few things recently to be fair.

5) When the wife want them to go up, they go up!!

Shenia her family and my own.

2. Did you watch Football? Did you play Football?
I didn't get to play football like I used to but my cuzins and I played Madden for the new xbox all day.

3. For What are you most Thankful?
Im most thankful for the love that can only come from family and those who are true to you. Im thankful the strength of a love that forgave me which left such an impression that it allowed me to do the same later on.

4. Did you watch any parades? (In person, or on t.v.)
None

5. If you celebrate x-mas, when do you put up your decorations?

Never took them down. Its Christmas year round!

1. The immediate family, plus two neighbors who didn't have plans.

2. Watched, yes. Playing days are long over. Spent a good amount of time right here, too.

3. My family's ability to stick together, despite tragedy.

4. If I had known the float was gonna bonk innocent bystanders, I'd've watched a parade for the first time. :)

5. A week or two before for the tree, three or for weeks for the outside stuff. Nobody wants to be walking on spruce needles for a month. We always cut our own tree.
(I'm dreading the holiday this year. It was my oldest daughter's year to hang the star on top, and it's a pretty big deal around here. It's a five year wait between turns for the kids, and I have her on video making a big deal out of, "Next year is my turn !")

1. Work and then home. my wife was away from home visiting close family over the last couple of weeks. A close relative was diagnosed with a terminal illness. Real tough for us.

2. Only had time to watch the second half of the Pukes game.

3. Tough times make you grateful for the good ones for sure.

4. Parades must be watched in person IMO. No, I did not awtch any.

5. Gradually between the first and second week of December. But it has been later some years due to work and full activity schedule.
