LIst your reasons you believe Gibbs HAS to stay. Please try to stay on topic, too.

Mine:
1) Promised to honor 5 yr contract. He's a man of his word, and I expect him to stay.
2) The team is 5-5 and still has a shot at the playoffs. The Skins mean something again.
3) I missed his first go 'round, and I wanna see greatness again in Washington.
4) I believe Joe can turn this around, and can't no one convince me otherwise.

He should stay, he only won us 3 superbowls. Marty didn't shine in San Diego until his third year, same with Vermial in Saint Louis until his third year. I am sick of always changing coaches, people were chanting for Bill's head in Pittsburg two years ago and they stayed with him and look were they are now.

I think we need to stop trading our draft picks every year.

What does that have to do with Joe? We've been doing that long before Joe came on board and it may not happen this year. He picked up a heck of a QB for a 1st round pick. So we have a 1st round pick for the 2006 draft on our roster already.

Save that for the official danny boy has to go thread.

got it? k. Thanks.

Joe has to stay because he's the best coach in the NFL.

If Joe didn't come out of retirement we would have Fassel as our head coach, the guy whose team lacked discipline.

I hated that revolving door. I never want to see that door spin for so long and for so many times during the offseason ever again.

I hate Dallas. I hate Philly. Gibbs has beaten them both in his second year. Hopefully we'll get a sweep of at least one of those teams.

Fed Ex Field kind of sucked until Gibbs got here. Sometimes, I was the only one in my section yelling. Well.......I wasn't, but it seemed like I was sometimes. It was very quiet. Now, my section can go freakin nuts! Its so much more fun!

A Gibb's coached team has never quit. EVER!!! It seemed like we quit under Norv Turner, Marty (The first couple of games), and under Spurrier.

A Gibb's coached team is exciting to watch, because you can lean back and relax as the Redskins are Running up the score by the start of the 3rd quarter. Dang, that game against San Fran............I won't ever forget it.

If we let Gibbs go who could come in here and do what Gibbs has done? He cut off the cancer after his first year. Now we're beating Division leader opponents, racking 300+yards and 35 points against the league's best defense, are getting respect at home (Remember last year during Dallas week? Bill Parcell's started the game off with a no huddle offense. I would like to see a team try that now!), and we beat Dallas......NO, we embarrassed Dallas during their Ring of Shame game. If you think Gibbs should go then tell me who else could do all of those things after one year with his new team? This year isn't over yet either. I might have to edit my post and put swept dallas, swept Philly, and made it to the play offs. I can't wait until this Sunday.

Joe hasn't done anything that would cause him to be fired wouuld be a good reason to keep him but a better one is...
He is doing what he is being paid to do and he isn't halfway though the contract that he signed

Joe Gibbs has brought back character, integrity and accountability to the players and the whole team.

I am as proud a fan of the Washington Redskins as I am a proud fan of Joe Gibbs.

In Joe Gibbs we trust!

Hail to the Redskins!

Am I the only one to be put to shock that this is an issue, even?

he is definately coming back. Only people who might need to look at their jobs possibly are Joe Bugel and Bon Breaux.

I want them back, just saying they are the only ones with a chance of being forced out.

Joe Gibbs IS Redskins football.

Without him, we're a crummy franchise with no Super Bowl titles.

With him, we are one of the most accomplished franchises in the sport.

Surely, this thread isn't needed? But I'll pile in anyway:

1) We need him
2) He's better than Parcells, Coughlin and Reid
3) He's better than everybody else too

...because if he leaves, we have nothing to look forward to.
George Allen can't come back.

1-joe is a redskin for life.always has and always will be.
2-he will honor his contract with the redskins.
3-he knows he wants to prove himself all over again(cause i remember the first time around like it was yesterday.
4-at 5-5 this year isn,t out of the question for the postseason.

joe gibbs will stay just to prove to himself that he can still get it done in a new era where free agency and the salary cap rules. parity is supreme.

Fine Len was right Snyder is making the personal decsions not Joe. We didn't just give out a first round pick for Jason it was a third and a 4th also. Which was dum because there are so many good Qb out there in the next draft that are better than Campell. Were such a impatient organazation.

No more impatient than the fans who think that Gibbs can turn out a Superbowl winner from the pile of dog-doo that he inherited in the space of two years. And never ever use the word's "Len" and "right" in the same sentence again.

I think "the Danny" has taken a backseat on the personnel decsions with Joe in the FO. But just looking at on paper it looks like the work of "the Danny". Joe brought in a bunch of free agents last year just like in the years before his return(Grif, Harris, Barrows and others). Gibbs turned around and did it again this year.(Patten, Rabach, Prielou and a few more). Made "the Danny" like news grabbing deals in year one and two (Portis and Brunell then Coles for Moss). Joe traded his draft picks in his 1st tenure in Washington and that obviously hasn't changed, he has 3 first rounders on the roster in his second year.
There are some good QBs coming out this year but I'm sure that was consider before the trade was made. Its not like he was on the board when it was Gibbs turn to pick, He went after Campbell and paid what he needed to pay to get him. How many of the QBs coming out in the next draft will have a year working with Gibbs? How many gamebreaking 3rd and 4th round picks you see running around the league

Wow, I didn't know that you could see the future. You have no idea how good or bad Jason will be. Was Rothlessburger supposed to be as good as he was? Was little Peyton supposed to come on like he has this year?

Joe has to stay because Week 2, Redskins 14, Cowboys 13, Week 15, Redskins 35, Cowboys 7.

Aside from sweeping the hated 'Pukes, notice any improvement in the score? Maybe an overall improvement in the team? He's got the beloved Burgundy & Gold headed back in the right direction.
