Does anyone know what happened to him on Sunday? Did he suffer a concusion from that hit? They say he was playing it safe with some passes, but he was missing guys by like 20 yards. And with a 10 pt. lead why would you play it safe? Our defense isnt exactly dominating right now.

Don't know what was wrong with him this past week but it looks like he is starting to wear down and show his age.

He took a shot with a helmet to helmet when he scrambled for a first down, but he looked the same after the hit. Broke his helmet on the hit, though. The earpiece got knocked loose. They had to call timeout to get it fixed.
He had his right hand on ice after the game, so I'm not sure what happened there, but hopefully that isn't a big deal or we can expect him to have an even harder time holding on to the ball. :x

His problem was that he had no receivers who could get open, his line kept getting stupid penalties, and his coach was making bad calls. I don't put one game on Brunell this year, last week included.

Brunell is not at fault. The o-line sucked and the WR couldn't get open. Brunell is one of the few bright spots on the team this year.

I'm sure Mark would be the first to tell you that he needs to play better.

Did he lose the game for us? No, but he didn't help us win either.

I think our whole team needs to play better.

Offense needs to get a grip on the t/o situation.

Defense needs to attack! :explode:

Sunday's game was very unfortunate for this offense. Aside from the possible problems arising from the helmet to helmet hit on Brunell, he had little more than one target to whom he could throw the ball.

Our offense became one dimensional, which, in this league, is a recipe for disaster. Hopefully, some of thereserves that are filling in this week will be up to snuff come game time on Sunday. We're gonna need an "A" game from everyone on the filed Sunday afternoon.

That is what happens when you get old, but I think that he has no one to throw to. Moss is double covered.

Early in the season his throws had zip on them. On Sunday his throws were flat and reminded me a lot of last season. Hopefully the game was just an aberration and he can get back on track. I just wish that he would stop carrying the football like Michael Vick. It seems like just about every time he gets hit he fumbles.

No we won't. I'll be there, and that will make all the difference.

Again, enjoy the game! I will be in Californee-ah, and it is unfortunate that I won't get to meet ya. Have fun, and root us to another victory.

Of course, if we lose, we'll know it's your fault. :nana:

Have a blessed Thanksgiving weekend.

My only problem with Brunell the past 2 weeks was that he took sacks on 4th down to end the game for us. Just throwing the ball up at that point would at least give us a chance. He also needs to tuck the ball better when he is under pressure.

it is definitely true that he has less places to throw it lately, and not much time (the o-line has been iffy). but you are right- there is really no way to argue against the fact that he is showing some wear. his throws are definitely not showing the same "zip" you mentioned, that we saw early in the year. i also feel like i saw some of those infamous "one-hoppers" he threw all last year, not a good omen.

as much as i would like to switch to ramsey at this point, it's probably the most sensible thing to ride the season out with brunell (at least until/if we are completely out of playoff contention).

but next year we should definitely relegate brunell to the backup spot. we know he's not going to last that entire season.

No pocket, no time, no completions.
What else can you say ? The line looks like a saloon door sometimes. Everybody-and I mean everybody !- is getting through to our QB. The only difference between Patches and Mark right now is that Patches can get back up like nothing happened. He's used to it. :)

I also think Brunell is wearing down a bit. But he's been taking a pretty bad beating (we're in the bottom 10 for sacks allowed), and he's not a spring chicken anymore. But I'm seriously not convinced PRam would be any better for us. Brunell might have made bad decisions on taking sacks on the 4th downs of the past two games, but you just know Ramsey would have had a hell of a lot more bad decisions than just those two...

Well, that and Ramsey's favorite pass to throw is the interception...

Even though Brunell is wearing down he still should be starting because he gives us the best chance to win at this point and as long as we are still in the playoff hunt he is the man. However, I think it's becoming increasingly clear that we cant count on Brunell to be the starter next year. If he cant even get through this season without wearing down it is only going to be worse next year when he is a year older. No matter who is the starter next year I think our qb situation is going to be pretty ugly.
