I dont know how times Ive sat back and watch the opposing Qb sit back on a lawn chair in that pocket. I cant be the only one whos noticed this. We have bums in at all four dlinemen positions. Gosh man and can we please hold on to the ball ahhhhhh mann. hewwww well Know we have to win out to get a good grip on a playoff spot I hope. But seriously why have the Redskins orginization ignored the need at Dline geez the only good one we got is C griff and hes injured we have to address this need.

I totally agree with you. See my post in the fairweather fans thread. It is sickening to watch opposing qb's sit it the pocket and be able to survey the field for an eternity. DE should definitely be our top priority in the offseason.

Anybody know whos going to be a free agent this year at the position. Rather than everyone agree that we have no pass rush lets see whos going to be out there and who will be best for us.

How about John Abraham? He is available.

He would definitly give us that extra push. Hope we have salary cap room.

We are going to have to go to free agency because we traded our 1st rd pick for Campbell right?

I don't think that our D-linemen are bums! The are very good run stuffers, but you need a pass rusher or two on the D-line and we don't have any. We deffinately need a pass rushing DE or DT. You can get a tweener type in the 2nd round and rotate him in. Or may we could convince the opposing offense to use the zero blocking sceem that we employed against Burgess on Sunday. I'm sure even R. Wynn could get to a QB if no one blocked him.

Our dlinemen definately are not bums, at least the tackles aren't. We're great at run stopping and we just need 2 solid de fensive ends.

Freeney isn't a free agent until after the 2006 season.

I agree with you on that they do stuff the run pretty well. Good point but maybe we should blitz Arrington alot more because hes not that good in coverage. Hes mainly a Qb hunter let him do what he is made for.

Blitzing does nothing. I dont think a lot of people have noticed that. None of our blitzers can break a block and none of our linemen command a double team. Blitzing is pointless for us.

Robert Mathis (who plays opposite Freeney) is a UFA in 2006
So is John Abraham.

I think Freeney is a RFA next season, but Colts can't sign everybody. Reggie Wayne, Edge, Mathis...somethings gotta give.

It can make plenty of difference if it designed right just count Arrington as an extra lineman but just happens to be on the olb spot Ive seen it work and I know it can work. We arent generating any pressure with the front four so we have to create it somehow. What else can we do right now. We can man up everyone else and send in arrington 70 percent of the time I know it could work and Im hoping He blitzes more often.

Stud DE's don't grow on trees... they'll let wayne walk before freeney walks...

I don't understand why we take Lavar out on most third downs. It seems to me that it would make sense to line him up as a DE and let him rush the qb. He recorded 11 sacks that way in 2002.

Kalimba Edwards is a UFA this year too.

Not saying you're wrong but I have faith that Gregg has exhausted his options and he's tried everything. When we blitz 7 people and get no pressure...I dont know wut to say. We should get pressure by sheer # but its takes too long.

CLL i know we've had our disagreements but i'm totally with you on this one. every time i saw us rush 3 and drop 8 on 3rd and long i cheered. every time i saw the blitz i freaked, and rightfully so since we continue to give up big plays on failed blitzes. and none of that is even offset because we just about never MAKE any big plays on blitzes (sacks, forced fumbled, forcing bad throws for INTs, etc).

You're right--that would be insulting to bums worldwide.

Our defensive line couldn't rush downhill and sack a bag of potatos.

A wise man once said, "It is better to say nothing and be thought a fool, than open your mouth and dispell any doubt."

Pass rushing is only half of what a D-lineman does!

But that doesn't make him wrong. Our linemen really are hopeless pass-rushers. Whatever the scheme is, surely they are supposed to be going after the QB on 3rd and long? Assuming that they aren't still minding their gaps in long yardage situations (and remember I don't get to actually see any of the games to know what they're doing), then they must just be crud pass rushers.

A fit Griffin will make a difference here, but we badly need more linemen who can beat their man and get in the QB's face. Crikey, I'd be happy with just one, but it must be possible to find a couple out there somewhere.

We are missing Brandon Noble. He and Corny were good at giving us push up the middle. With Noble out all season, Big Joe is in and playing good against the run, but he doesn't get that same push, and now with Corny out Boschetti (who is a better pass rusher than Big Joe) isn't good enough to collapse the pocket by himself.

With plenty of room to step up, our outside rushers have no chance whatsoever. Our only sack from the riaders game (at least the only one I remember) came with Chris Clemons blitzing up the middle and cathing Collins as he stepped up into the pocket to avoid the outside rush.
