Where the heck has this kid been? Has he really played at all yet this season? I think he has only 2 receptions for something like 33 yards so far, right?

Has he just not been playing at all? Inactive? Sitting the bench?

I've always heard how this kid runs great routes...has great speed.

If so, where the heck has he been?

Hell, can't be much worse than Patten!!

I hope he steps in and takes over that number 2 spot. He has talent.

I hope this is the case of an injured player losing his job because his replacement steps it up big-time. Taylor Jacobs has got to find a way to impress the coaching staff, because Patten just doesn't cut it. He doesn't have a burst to the ball once it is in the air. I hope Jacobs just forgets about the past and delivers!

The times he had gotten in the game Brunell hasnt even looked his way. I do want him to get a chance to see what can he do.

It's definately time to get someone else in the #3 slot. He still won't have a chance to do much because of the way our offense is until he gets past thrash for the #2.

Time to step up this week!

i think ray brown would have been more productive so far than Patten has.

i am also hoping for a breakout game by jacobs, who will hopefully be manning the #2 spot in patten's absence.

I really think this season is the last chance saloon for Jacobs. He may have a chance to impress if Patten is out this Sunday, but I guess they'll go with Thrash as the number two man.

Gone are the days when Joe could have hidden the kid away on injured reserve waiting for his chance. If he doesn't make an impact soon, I think the Redskins will be looking elsewhere before next season. And that goes for Patten too.

I think this is the chance in which TJ needs to step up and prove the doubters wrong. Good football teams have players who step up when needed. I look forward to him cathing 5 passes with a TD and going over the century mark against the Raiders anemic defense.

I'll be pleased if he does get the start - let the kid play and prove himself. It'll take him a long time to prove that he can actually stay healthy, but he might only need 60 minutes to prove that he can play in this league.

I love Thrash but he is not the number 2.

Also, Thrash is so important on special teams it would be a mistake to increase his role at WR too much.

Desmond Howard, Michael Westbrook, and 50-50 were first round picks. I think Taylor was a second round pick, so there's still hope.

Taylor was considered a late first rounder early second rounder.
Most thought we were lucky to get him at 44th.
This is his second year with Gibbs. It's time for pancreas to step up and make himself known.

Isn't it odd that Patten was placed on IR so quickly. They said about 6 weeks to recover. With the playoffs within reach maybe we should have held off placing him on IR.

I thought they were going to base the decision on what the surgeon saw. He must not have had much to say.

I've had faith in this kid since day one. I think he has the speed that this offense seems to be based around. I like him.

With Jacobs starting in Patten's place, I hope he can become the receiver he has the capabilities of becoming. It's all about getting a chance and this Sunday might be the most important game of his career at this point.

If he does not have a break out game against the Raiders, I don't think we can say it is never going to happen.
He should have the rest of the season, and I think he will atleast match Patten's production.
If he can't, then I say look somewhere else.

Agreed, now that Patten is officially on IR Jacobs has a little more time to prove himself.

He better watch his back, Parson got moved to the actuve roster and Jimmy Farris may be put on the Practice squad until he learns the offense.
