KNOCK IT OFF: "Bad Calls"

People, people, people...
STOP complaining about bad calls. Warranted or not it makes you sound PATHETIC! Do you want the Washington Redskins to be known league wide as a bunch of crybabies?
You people are an embarassment.
This is like the boy who cried wolf. Stop raising a stink about every call that doesn't go our way! Stop whining! Jesus!
It's pathetic, it's stupid and it's gaining an unwanted reputation for Redskins fans.
A wise man once said "If you blame an official for a loss, then you become a loser."
Can we focus instead on the positives? Or at least on the team's actual shortcomings rather than inventing problems with the officials?
How about "Oh well it happens! We'll just have to play harder next time!" or "It wouldn't matter if Brunell hadn't thrown that pick!"
Both show much more character than "Boo hoo, these officials have it in for us!"
Seriously, sell that crap someplace else.

Show me a team whose fans don't complain when a bad call goes against them.

When they get a touchdown because of a blatent screw up I have every right to complain. I did not say "THey just cost us this game." I said they cost us a touchdown. This post does not sound like one an adult would make and you need to realize that everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

How does a fan complaining on a message board make the Redskins look like cry babies.
Horrible call...point blank

are you guys serious??
It doesn't matter about THIS call. If people do this kind of thing ONCE IN A WHILE. It's okay, but you do a disservice to your fellow fans when you whine like petulant children every time a call doesn't go our way.
It's got to stop.

Any sane person rooting for the Redskins would've complained about the officiating following that Dallas game on MNF last year. It was beyond terrible.
I'm not going to say it's the only reason we lost that game but it sure as hell handicapped us and was a big reason they won.

Bad calls are only an issue if we're losing a game. And the reason we're losing this game folks, is because we keep turning the ball over! The Bucs really are nothing much, but they look a hell of a lot better when you keep giving them the ball back.

When a bad play costs my team the game, I have every right to be pissed. I don't have one care what it makes me sound like.

Sickening football game that had NOTHING to do with the refs.

Maybe we should try the next game without them.

Well, our defense sucked bad. They are at fault. However, it was clear by the replay that Alstott's elbow was down. It is a shame that they didn't over rule that 2 pt. It's like they feared a riot or something. But our defense was abysmal.

3rd and 3 with 2:30 to go.... we couldn't get the 3 yards...
that was the game.... if our offense converted it we would have won.... end of story...
the bad call is irrelevant...

We can complain all we want to, and we have the right to complain. But we should never, ever, let a game come down to having to be decided by a zebras call, or a reply booth review.

Hard to lurk after a loss like this... honestly this is true that ref calls cannot excuse the defense giving up as much as it did or the turnover problems that continue to plague the offense, but a line has to be drawn. The fact is, also, that for some odd reason for more than a few years after a good percentage of skins losses we are ABLE to find certain calls that truly could have altered the game.
Is it bad luck? Maybe. Does someone have it out for us? Who knows. Obviously we cannot try to look away from the glaring flaws of our football team that truly cost us this game, but you cannot overlook calls like this when one way or another the game does come down to it, which has happened alittle too much for my liking for awhile now. Im tired of looking at news reports a couple days after a game talking about the league sending an apology to redskins park for horrendous calls that could have given the game to them.
Really tonight, it was not the Alstott 2 pt conversion that really irked me, usually nfl refs wont touch something like that, it was the long pass early in the game that led to 6, it bothered me all game and by the end, rightfully so. It was such an obvious thing, he was not forced out by any means, and by nfl rules one foot in isnt a catch. I think that play helped alot to give simms some early confidence to go down the field on us, and also helped give them an early 7 (how much was it all decided by in the end?).
Now none of this implies that the refs simply gave them the game, the redskins gave them the game, but why is it that were almost always able to even find these obvious calls after losses? Who knows what could have happened, we may still have lost if they called it right, but its just such a frustrating thing that were able to find so many of these and its hard to not really vent frustration about them, especially after a heartbreaker like this.
Fact is we are what we are, its not pretty but weve gone 2-4 since our 3-0 start and this team needs to pick it up or end up locked in the cellar again real fast.

AMEN, I COMPLETELY agree with you Skinsfan55! This game and the others we have lost this year are nobodys fault but our own. I agree that there is some bad officiating but that is NOT why we have lost games and if you blame it on that then you are simply making excuses.
We need to fix the problems we have and the main one is turnovers, we need to be on the plus side of them and not the negative side. Almost every game we have lost was due to turnovers.... our own fault. A game should never come down to a single play or call by an official. We gave them 14 points on our own turnovers today.... that's why we lost.
This is the best Redskin team we have had in a decade and they have the best chance making the playoffs of any Redskin team in recent years. We make mistakes, our players are human, they are all playing their hearts out and doing their best. I am as frustrated as the rest of you on this loss and every loss, it ruins my whole week..... but there is always next week.... and next week we WILL win.

i have never seen a game so clearly and terribly thrown in my entire life. every other game the refs have screwed up is usually on one or two big blown calls that change the game. today's game it was obvious and unquestionable that the refs had it in for us the whole game. they looked the other way on countless bucs penalties (a slew of pass-interference no-calls, at least one of which resulted in an "interception", and gave every terrible BS call they could to favor them, including the 2 point conversion at the end when it was CLEAR THAT THE ELBOW WAS DOWN BEFORE THE GOAL LINE. but it seemed like the guy wasn't even bothering to look at all the angles.
it's one thing to say a blown call didn't matter when it was in the 1st, 2nd, even 3rd quarter... or even if there are at least 5 or 6 minutes left and the other team has time to come back. but with less than a minute left? it gives the screwed team no time to recover from the bogus setback.
all that being said, we didn't deserve to win this game anyway. our defense is terrible. they don't even deserve to be on the field. on almost every play in the 2nd half there were 2 receivers with no one anywhere near them.

Great shot Brandon777.
I say we send it to the Pentagon and put those refs in Jail.
But on a more serious note, I believe the Refs this year have been horrible, and not just for our games.
It seems like they go off instinct, not off what they saw, just by what they feel is right...

IF you watch the game highlights availible on the teams website you'll see clearly that the ref's ignored a false start on tampa's left tackle on the Ike Hilliard TD which consequently tied the game at 28. I don't think that these nfl refs are "homers" but I think the evidence is there to argue that the fear of the crowd has swayed refs decision making this season in favor of the home team.

i have blamed several games in my life on the refs, but always because of incompetence. this is the first time i've ever believed it was obvious that the refs actually intentionally threw the game.

There were bad calls in the game but it did go both ways. Betts kick return for a TD should have been over turned after seeing the video blown up. Just like like the video of Alstots elbow, but I'm pretty sure the refs do not see the blown up video.
I think if the Resdkins had been smarter after Tampas last TD and not commit 2 penalty's we would have had a good chance to drive for a winning FG instead of having the ensueing kick go into the endzone for no return and Alstot only have to go 1 yd for a 2 pointer. At worst we would have been in OT.

Really? The ONE bad call?
Which ONE was that? What quarter among all four quarters are you talking about?
There were tons of BAD calls against us! But in a sense I agree with one possible angle of the original post:
We need to WIN against the OTHER team -AND- the ZEBRAS combined. There can be no doubt. If we do not win by a knock out, the decisions will go to our opponents EVERY time!
