Eagles spokesman Derek Boyko did not clarify Owens' status for this Sunday night's game against the Redskins but acknowledged that the veteran receiver likely would be listed on the injury report that will be submitted today to the league office.
Owens informed the Eagles on Monday that his ankle was hurting so badly that he doubts he can play against the Redskins and feels uncertain about his status for the Nov. 14 game against the Cowboys on ABC's Monday Night Football.
The Eagles were unsure about which play Owens hurt his ankle in Sunday's 49-21 loss to the Broncos.
Boyko confirmed it was on the same right leg he broke a year ago when he was tackled by Cowboys safety Roy Williams on Dec. 19, 2004. Owens missed the remainder of the regular season as the Eagles defeated the Cowboys 49-21 en route to Super Bowl XXXIX. Owens returned to play in that game, catching nine passes for 122 yards in the Eagles' 24-21 loss to the Patriots.

Wow. The guy played the Super Bowl with a broken leg but says he may not play in the two games that could make or break the eagles' season? Hmmmm. Sounds like he is unhappy...suprise suprise. Or is it he remembers the beating Sean Taylor gave him last year?

Don't know where you saw that he was out. It just says that his ankle is injured and he may or may not play the next two games. My feeling is that he'll fight through it and try to play.

Said Owens: "With Sean Taylor running around like a mad man this weekend, I think that my ankle hurts too bad to play."
When asked about the uncertainty of playing against the Cowboys, Owens stated: "Well, Roy Williams hits hard, and that makes me want to skip that game as well, but as long as I go deep, Roy Williams won't really be a problem."

For him to say the above it means he will miss at least one of the next two games. T.O. is a tough bastard and he wouldn't put this out there unless he was going to miss the game on Sunday IMO.

Owens might not play... now if Arrington gets a body shot on #5, that would remove McNabb...

Then just tell Westbrook that there was money on the ground, and he'll probably look there instead of at the ball.

Wow! This sounds like it's been staged by T.O. and his agent. I can't believe he's trying to call the shots on his playing time.

HELL YEAH, I hope he doesn't play and wines all week to Reid and gets put on the bench.....if he doesn't play all the Skins have to do is stop brian westbrook, because they don't run at all!!!

Even if he does play, our pass defense should be able to bottle him up provided everyone is healthy.

I'll be surprised if he doesn't play.
Does sound strange though, that he informed the Eagles that he might not be able to play the next two games. That's strange talk from a player like TO, who has played through pain and injury before. He's a tool, but he guts it out. If he had a contract it's a lock he would play if he could.
Correction, a contract he was happy with

Eagle's ankle injury on the same leg he broke last year

Well that would certainly make their offense even more one dimensional than it already is. The league's most pass-happy offense without its best reciever, that can't be good.

Reid denies report that Owens may miss 2 games
By Marc Narducci
INQUIRER STAFF WRITER
Eagles coach Andy Reid today refuted an ESPN report that wide receiver Terrell Owens told the team that his status for the next two games would be in jeopardy because of a sprained ankle.
"I hadn't heard that," Reid said during his news conference today at the Nova Care Complex. "I don't worry about that. It's a day to day thing, that's the way he is approaching it and we'll see how it goes. As far as I know, from T.O and my trainers, that is what it is."
Owens was listed by Reid as doubtful for Sunday's game at Fed Ex Field against the Washington Redskins.
"He is hurting and sore," Reid said. "It's going to be a fight to get him there Sunday."
Owens has caught 47 passes for 763 yards and six touchdowns this season. He was among a number of players who are battling injuries.
Punter Dirk Johnson is out for the season after Reid announced he has been put on the injured reserve list with a groin injury. He was replaced by rookie Reggie Hodges, who appeared in five games this season for the St. Louis Rams.
Hodges averaged 38 yards on 22 punts after being selected in the sixth round from Ball State.
Also on the injury front, defensive end Jevon Kearse didn't practice Wednesday because of a shoulder sprain and is listed as day to day and is questionable for this week, according to Reid.
Quarterback Donovan McNabb didn't practice due to a rib contusion.
He is listed as day to day. Reid said that McNabb is probable.
McNabb indicated that he would be in the lineup. When asked if he was close to not playing, McNabb said, "No. I love this game too much."
McNabb said he suffered the injury after getting hit and falling on the heel of guard Shawn Andrews.
"It's sore, but I look forward to getting better each day." McNabb said.

Interesting ... the whole thing could be a smokescreen, i guess. They sound really banged up though across the board.

I'm not sure I buy this. McNabb is a great QB, and given our anemic pass rush he will have all day in the pocket. TO or not, he will be able to move the ball through the air.
