How Will The Skins Due

It seems as though every year at this time of year, every team in the NFL is a Super Bowl contender. Are the Redskins? Hmmm. Good Question!!!!

In my humble opinion, the acquisition of R. Thomas, L. Coles and C. Morton will go a long way to helping this club get back into the playoffs...and possibly further.

When I look on the season ahead of us, I think the Skins are going to start out at 4-4. As for the second half of the season, I'm (optimistically) guessing the Skins are gonna finish 6-2 or 5-3, making their overal season record 10-6 or 9-7.

Now....I put the question to all of you! How do you think the Skins are gonna do this year :?: :?:

Let's hear it :!: :!:

We have a pretty tough schedule, but I think if we can get on a roll, we're going to do well.

10-6 (4-2 in our own division)

I'm still uncertain. Not in that the team will be better, it will.

I'm unsure whether that better team will result in a better record.

Can't ignore the Tuna-in-Big D factor.

I figure the Tuna is probably a year out from making any serious noise in the division--he's got too many broken pieces. He might do better than a 563rd consecutive 5-11 season, but I don't think we have to look over our shoulders (yet).

As for us, I'm definitely thinking playoffs this year--10-6, maybe even 11-5. We have a wicked schedule, but for the first time in a while, I'm thinking we might have a team around which other teams will have to make plans--instead of just being another stop on their tour through the season.

Awwww, I can just feel the Fun 'n Gun coming . . . .

10-6 is what I have predicted for some time now on the ESPN Skins board guys. I'm not worried about Tuna at all this season and like one said (they've got too many broken pieces to make any noise this season). Don't tell their asanine fans that though! They know everything and dallass is better then Washington yet can't finish better for 4 years running now...LOL! Anyhow, improved O-line, improved speed, second year systems and a good quality QB in the making makes this team 10-6 this season with a possible wild card birth.

GO SKINS!!!

Hail 2 the!!!!!!!!!

Offence:87

I think we will be 10-6 record at best. I think Trung Canidate will have a breakout year. I also think that Rod Gardner will have a very decent year. Coles will flourish and really strcth the crap out defences. <=This is why Canidate will really surprise. We really have speed now and we will strecth Defences. We must jell though. We will rank in the Top 12 on O.

Defence 84
note:the freakin line.

Defenceively, I am really concerned about our D-line. I really think we should move to a 3-4 set. Mitchel should be a starter and that scheme will work for us. The line is o.k. but we need is some big guys to stand up the line, so we can blitz cleaner!!!!The flip side is we need to let 0ur team jell to one beat(base) and go from there. We'll be fine. We will rank within the top 7.

I think we're going to see our D-line play solid--not spectacular, but definitely enough to tie up the O-line and let the linebackers roam and make the plays on the ball. I expect LaVar will have a bunch of sacks, though probably not as much last year as he did rushing from the line (standing, though, not in the 3-point). But we'll see more jarring hits on the ball-carrier with the attendant turnovers. And I have a feeling that Bruce Smith will surprise some people as a pass-rush specialist--most folks seem to think he's going to be a bit of a liability, but I think he's got the moves to dazzle some people when he steps in for 3rd-and-long duty. I definitely anticipate a top-10 defense, and wouldn't be surprised to see us close to our #5 ranking again.

Homerism, perhaps, but there ya go.

I think you're right on target. My concerns are on the defensive side of the ball. Can we stop the run? Will our defensive line put pressure on the opposing QB? :?: :?: :?:

I'd settle for two wins against the cowgirls and a wild-card :D
