Advice: First game......Skins/Cardinals

My family (myself, wife, daughter (11), sons (7 and 3) are driving down to Tempe for Skins/Cardinals on Dec. 11. This trip may be once in a lifetime for us as we have never been to a game before and who knows if we will again. I need advice from all you experts on everything game-day starting with tickets, parking, tailgate, seating, and everything else.

Specific questions I have now: 1. Where to try and purchase tickets. I have found a guy on ebay who can get ticets in several stadium locations. Do I want Redskin sideline tics? Endzone tics? Where would you like to sit if for only one game?

2. What do I expect from fans. Will we get beer thrown on us when we spank the cardinals? I could take about anyones craptalk but I don't want my family to be involved in any hostility or the like. Can I expect anything like that?

3. Do I reserve parking or simply park and throw out the grill and start burnin burgers? Are there specific areas for tailgating or is it allowed anywhere?

I appreciate any help or ideas. See you in Tempe! Go skins!

There are members of this site that should be able to help you with most of your questions AZ_Hog comes to mind.

From what I read and heard there will be more Skins fans at that game the Card fans.

I have been going to Skins - Cardinals games for years. I have had a lot of success buying tickets on Ebay. It does not matter where you sit, you will be surrounded by Skins fans. We outnumber Cardinals fans probably 3 - 1. Parking is easy, there is plenty of free parking around the stadium if you get there early and don't mind walking a few minutes. It is a great atmosphere, I will be there with my wife, and 2 kids.

Wow. Is it like that for most teams or just the Skins? For some reason that is hard to believe.

I will be at the game. I'll be staying in Tucson, AZ and then heading into Tempe on Gameday. I will try to pair up with some folks here who live in the area to tailgate with them if they don't mind someone chipping in on the food/drinks. Its going to be a great day as if every other day being a skins fan isnt. Especially this year.

I too have found ebay to be the best way to get tickets after the release date. I will be in section 32 row 15 I think behind the Skins bench. I hope to get an autograph or two.

What I'd like to know is are we allowed to bring signs into the stadium or do we have to sneak them?

What's the best airport to fly into if I wanna stay near the stadium?

Fly into Phoenix, Skyharbor Airport. The airport is about 3 miles from the stadium. If you're coming in from the east, you fly almost directly over the stadium. There are plenty of hotels near the airport/ stadium.

Their only real problem is that the Cradninal fans are still in Chicago, waiting for Red Grange.

I've been to several skins games in Arizona. It should be almost like a home game with many redskins' fans. Yea, you might run into a drunk idiot or two, but that happens anywhere. The upper level seems to have more drunk idiots so if you don't like them maybe you should spend a little more on lower level tickets. You can buy tickets from the cardinals web site. They go through ticketmaster so you have to pay a little fee. But, you can click on a web cam from their site that allows you to see the view from your seats. Yes, I'd suggest sitting on the East side if you want to be on the redskins's side of the field. You might see some old timers cruising the sidelines. Charles Mann was at one of the games a few years back. You don't have to reserve parking. There is plenty of parking at cardinals games. I think it costs $8-10 to park, but you can tailgate with BBQ in the lots. There will be plenty of skins fans tailgating, too. Cardinals fans are used to losing so they won't be too shocked if we spank them. I expect you and your family will have a great time. Feel free to email me if you want more info about Arizona and cardinals games.

We all should put together a meeting point for the game so we can all meet up and tailgate.

Thanks all. I have located tickets sec. 30 row 26 for $135 each. Is that reasonable? I need 7 total tickets and may be paying for that inconvenience, I don't know.

Also, Frankcal, how do you plan on getting autographs? Before the game? After? That would be sweet.

Thanks again.

Are these box seats? $135.00 for each seems very expensive.

Well you are on the 50 yard line. I'll be on the 25 but I only paid 55.00 each. I don't want to tell you what to do but I think that is quite pricy. The hard thing is getting 7 tickets all together. You may have to pay it to get what you want.
