Redskin fans ask yourself this question

Do you really think that Mark Boonell is going to lead the Skins to the Super Bowl?

I myself still think he stinks.
Can only lose games not win games.

Don't kid yourself the Dallas game was a fluke.

He's going to win more games than Ramsey or the rookie would.

If the Dallas game was a fluke then what were the past two games?

Redskin's yards the past two games - 845. Their opponents? 531.

The problem = Turnovers on Offense and lack of Turnovers on Defense.

walton and gottoloveit...you have got to be kidding me!?!
Have you been watch'n the same game or just decided to stop watching last season and not turn on the tube ever since?

Redskin's yards the past two games - 845. Their opponents? 531.

Find me another team that has done better in two games... Brunell has thrown for over 650 yards in 2 games, also 5 Touchdowns! I'm not including our what you call "fluke" on monday night either!

He's 8th in the league in rushing
12th in passing

and 8th again in passing touchdowns...That's better/more than hasselbeck, brees, leftwich, brady, roethlisberger, p. manning, griese, mcnair, plummer, dilfer, collins, vick...should I go on?

Go to the footbal101 forum, learn a little, then come back and post a better topic. thanx

Except for the fumbles yesterday, Brunell has been in top form this season. And, as for those fumbles, if you pressure any QB enough, he will have a couple turnovers.

I guess the last three games were a fluke as well: 879 yards, 7 TD's, 1 INT.

In 5 games this season, he has already passes for more yards than he did all of last season.

Yawn
Too tired from the Tailgate for #8 celebration to get into it this AM. Nothing worth reading here, anyway.

BTW - have y'all noticed that Ramsey is looking a little more plump nowadays?? He, too, has been dropping by for some grub and the tailgate on his days off (Sundays).

One guy isn't going to make it or break it in this system. Right now, we're a better football team than we've been in 12 years. O, D, ST's - all the way around. So, we dropped a couple - we're still very much in the hunt! I think we would have won both games had they been in DC. We've gotta start winning the turnover battle - then we'll be able to beat any team in the NFL - no matter where we play. Brunell, he's good enough to play the part - no question.

Brunnell has thrown 9 TD's to 2 Picks, has a 91 passer rating and improving. And this team is poised to challenge for the NFC East crown.

He is the fifth rated passer in the league and he is only a half point behind Eli Manning. We will win a bunch of games this year, and Brunnell should win Comeback Player of the Year Award. I think he is capable at least.

Be patient. We had a touch road swing. We have played against 3 of the top offenses each week last week. As things shake out you will see that we are a top team. We are capable of beating up on the 49ers, Giants, Raiders Pukes etc. We have the opportunity to dominate our division this year. Once we start protecting the football and forcing some TO's we will be in great shape.

I think it is pretty obvious that we are one of the 3 or 4 best teams in the NFC...Tampa Bay, Atlanta, Philly, are up there and we are right in the mix with those teams. Keep in mind that we are playing the AFC West over here. Tampa and Atlanta are playing the AFC East....we are where we need to be....

I think he's doing a fine job.....Now let's just crush the 49er's and have a relaxing victory for once.........

Brunell is playing AWESOME, we can't ask more from a QB. He is playing like the Pro Bowl QB he once was and is standing out as a leader of the Redskins.

I was completely for Ramsey, I mean 100% for Ramsey after Brunells playing last year.... he couldn't even throw a 20 yard pass accurately. But this year he's been nothing short of amazing and his experience shows and helps us.

I will cheer for whomever helps us win games and plays with heart and that is what Brunell is doing now.

Go Brunell!!!

Listen. I hated Brunell last year with a passion! This year I am officially on the Mark Brunell (and Santana Moss) bandwagon. What a difference a year makes!!! He IS NOT the same QB he was last year. Fantasy football experts are actually picking him as a recommended "starting QB" here and there!! Go figure.

Those of you that continue to say Mark Brunell "sucks" (or something like that) just cannot recognize that the guy is really doing a decent, if not "good", job this year.

If you still think he "sucks", I would respectfully suggest/recommend that you crawl back into the hole you obviously have been living in for the past 4-5 weeks.

For those who say Brunnell sucks this year I refer you to two things:

1. Our record
2. ESPN.com and search for statistics.

The guy is playing at a Top 5 level in the NFC..if he continues to improve, he will make the pro-bowl.

I said before the season that Brunnel may be Comeback Player of the Year....and I Still think so.

How about the fact that in every game he drives the field when we need it most and has given us a chance to win.

Can you picture the amount of touchdown drives he could put together if the Defense starts getting turnovers?

See? This is where I see the problem in the turnovers quandry. It's not solely the defense's fault for not having a good turnover ratio. Fumbles are killing us, ON OFFENSE.

Our offense, for all its power and flash this year, in a way is letting down the defense by coughing up the ball.

The defense is a bitbanged up, and the fumbles only lead them back on the field, without the proper rest needed to consistently apply the pressure we know they can. Joe Gibbs runs a ball control offense, and we are having trouble controlling the ball. It ain't the lack of forced turnovers. My 2 cents

Anyway, back to the comment. We've had scoring drives halted because of the fumbles and INTs. We don't have to imagine TD drives, because we have seen them occur before our very eyes. THREE drives were halted because of turnovers THE OFFENSE allowed. How the heck can we expect to hae a good ratio, if we're always putting our d in a hole??

Our o needs to emphasize holding onto the darn ball. They will then pile on the points, and we won't be having these conversations again, IMO.

Agreed it is not solely the Defense, but it is 1/2 of the ratio that is just as important as the other half. Brunnel has thrown 2 picks this year and 9 TD's. The fumbles last game killed us, but no team can go 4 weeks witout a single turnover.

It is just a given that the offense will turn the ball over at some point, it just hurts a lot worse when the defense is not getting our offense any opportunities. We haven't forced a turnover in a month..thats just unnacceptable and it is asking the offense to be perfect 4 weeks in a row just to keep the ratio even. That is not fair to the offense either.

We have given the ball away only 10 times this season. But we have only taken it away 2 times. Take for example the Tampa Bay Bucs who have given it away 9 times, but have forced 15 turnovers...they are +6 in the category, yet they have given it away only one time less than we have.

Take further the Detroit Lions who have given it away 12 times, but taken it away 15 times, or even the Bears who have coughed it up 14 times, but taken it away 13 times.

We are DEAD LAST in the league with 2 takeaways, while most other teams are in the double digits. We have given it away an average amount, but the defense is clearly hurting the ratio.
My 2 cents

Mark Brunell will not lead us too the super bowl, but he gives us the best chance to win, and I hope Ramsey and Campbell are taking notes on how to lead a football team. Brunell is able to move us in to scoring postion every time, and he and Santan are on the same page.
