TURNOVER MARGIN!

Is anybody else worried about our turnover margin?? We have been awful in that category and it seems to be the difference in our close losses.
We can beat teams like SF with a bad TM but we need to clan that up before it gets out of hand.

Anybody who is not worried about the turnover margin needs to take off the rose-colored glasses. I'm sure there's been exceptions to the rule, but generally speaking...you don't get far when you turn the ball over three times and don't get any back.

Our defense is taking steps backward. I find it increasingly embarrassing that Holdman is the best we have at OLB...we need to suck up our pride on defense shore up the big plays and force turnovers before it continues.

Turnovers are killing us.
I'm sure this is eating Gibbs up.
Defense needs to suck it up a little better. They've been off the last couple games.
Hopefully. we can play just a bit better and I think we'll win these type games!!
Hail!!

What can the team do to improve the turnover ratio?
Tell Brunell not to fumble?

Maybe tell Brunell to carry/tuck ball better when he scrambles.

They have just given up a couple big plays. But, the real reason is because of injuries. Once everyone is back we will be back to normal on defense. Good thing we play the 49ers next that will give us a break.

I don't really see how you can blame injuries. The only player of significance that didn't play today on defense was Springs.

Harris and Taylor are in and out of the lineup
Griffin is hurt... Washington got dinged today
I'm not making excuses and I'm not crying about injuries.
Injuries are apart of the game.
Hall is injuried that means Novac takes up a roster spot.
If a DB goes down there are only so many that can replace him when you start shorthanded

Did anyone see the report on butterfingeritis on espn during the nfl sunday countdown? I think Mark has it.

Mark's fumbles hurt, but the biggie was Rock Cartwright's fumble. That was a 10 point swing. We are in FG range and driving possibly for a TD, and he gives them 7 points on that fumble.
That play changed the game. 21 points should be enough to win that game. Take away the big screen to Holmes and the 80yd fumble return and we are in the type of game we want...a 21-14 victory.

Well yeah, but if you take away all the negatives from a game, the team would be undefeated.
The thing is those plays did happen, and now we need to see how the team responds from a 2 game losing streak.
I believe Offensive Turnovers can be prevented. And with Sean Taylor, Marcus Washington, Shawn Springs, Griffin, Rogers... Turnovers will come, don't worry.

Really? Well Duh...that is what people call minimizing mistakes. The name of the thread is Turnover Margin...turnover as in mistake...the only way to correct the turnover margin is to minimize mistakes.
Those two mistakes were not the only negative plays of the game. We had plenty of penalties and 2 other turnovers, but those two plays were the critical points of the game, and we can't give those plays up to win our type of game.

I think he should be given a chance, since we arent getting any more turnovers since Week One. LaVar is proven to make turnovers, so lets try it out.

Im interested to see how well...or badly he would play if given a whole game to play.
Imnt so sure that he would be great by any means but its worth a shot at this point with our turnover ratio soo poor.

I swear I don't think I have ever seen any team in any sport kills themselves as much as the skins. It has been like this for years!!! The only way we ever lose games is because we beat ourselves and give the game away. When was the last time we were actually blown out in a game??? Turnovers kill you, and right now we don't value the football. Until that changes we arent going to make the playoffs with all of these stupid mistakes. There is no doubt in my mind that we can play with anyone in this league and beat them as long as we don't beat ourselves.

i will say this, since it is related to the whole turnover margin thing:
so far, it seems like the only team in the NFL that can beat the Redskins is... the Redskins.
the problem is, they are really good at it!
