Skins Must Score in the Redzone

For those of you that remember joe's first tenure with the skins, watching the most recent skins games is like a flashback. Ball control offense that gets first downs while taking every second it can to do so. Having a great third down percentage to keep those long drives alive. When the defense gets too close you catch them napping by throwing over them. Then when your inside your own 20, pounding the ball in.
Well at least most of that is right. Minus the last line, our team is playing like the great skins teams of old. But am I the only one that thinks we won't be stopped on the field, until we get to the 20. Am I the only one that when the team gets inside the 20, I just add three to the score and hope our defense can stop the team again?
With the "new hogs" we should be pounding the ball in the endzone. But instead, we're throwing on a two point conversion (don't get me wrong I really liked the call and it did work, just a good play by the LB) But we HAVE to score 7 when we get down the field. You can't run 8-9 minutes off the clock with a long drive and then only come away with 3. If we're seriously going to talk about the "p" word then we need a running game that can score touchdowns. With a receiving crew that stands at 5'10, passing it in is not the easiest of things to do. So the line must step up when they get down near the endzone and let portis score if we're going to win the tough games ahead

Things change and so does the NFL.I like what gibbs is doing with the offense we are much better than last year.Gibbs is using his old style coaching but with a new twist.I love the blocking schemes that he applys to protect the q.b.The speed at w.r. is awesome!!!Brunell put up 300 yards passing at denver and Jake P. only 92.The one thing that was missing was getting into the endzone more.I have a feeling the coaches will work on this!!!

I agree. Brunell looked good and I am still confindent. I feel better after watching Gibbs on reskins.com and hearing what he had to say after the game. I actually felt OK after the loss, almost better than I felt after a couple of the wins.

Gibbs will start getting in the endzone. Part of it has been bad luck and part of it, it that Joe is still experimenting and tweaking things. He's really working play action now. Watch teams start expecting the pass only to have Mark sneak it, or Clinton get it up the gut

That is the impression I got after watching the post game interview. Time to move on and rock the Chiefs.

Me too.....kinda weird isn't it. I wasn't too upset about this loss at all.

Same here but can't put my finger on why

I think I know why the loss didn't kill me. I could see very plainly that we belonged on the same field as the Broncos. We showed them that we can beat them in their house in the pouring rain, with only a little more luck.
Notice, people, how the media is giving Denver big props for winning this one. That kind of respect goes both ways.
We're getting somewhere with this. I almost like the loss, because it shows us that we're not necessarily charmed. We still have to eliminate a few mental mistakes, but we're well on the way to being a very, very good team.

We'll get Mad Props too.
When we beat a 7 point underdog by 2 in our own house.

it does look like our offense over all is coming together in the red zone and else where ..... now portis needs to get on track.

from what i saw it is real encouraging to see the fight back into the team again. the redzone offense needs to open up a little more but all in all i like what i,m seein thus far this season.
this team will be back with time.
