What kind of cell phones are you guys rocking these days? I am in the market for a new one and have been looking around for the past few weeks. I currently have the LG VX6000 with Verizon and I like the new LG 9800 coming out. You all know anything about the 9800?

Motorola i860 with Nextel. I like the phone (it's a camera phone) but Nextel has been buggin' the crap out of me lately.

the introductory siemens flip phone...640t or something like that...its an OK phone, easy to use, but it turns itself off all the time whcih is really really annoying.

I soo freaking done with Nextel. All of their phones are lame and overpriced. All I want is a little bit of blue tooth love! I still have my I95 because nothing is out thats worth the money. Im screwed because I love free incoming and my walkie talkie. I sent those idiots an email asking about future phones and the moron links me to their website.... ;furious;

I have been with Verizon for the last 3 years and that would be the provider for the 9800. The phone is a "bar" phone and not a flip. Anyone have experience with these?

Can't say I have any experience with that phone Art, but Verizon is my provider and I have a Motorola V710 and love it, awesome reception, the best phone I've had yet.

:D

I've got a Motorola V551 right now with Cingular, and I love it. Good camera, decent video, and overall a great phone. Now if I could only convert Hail To The Redskins into a real music ringtone....

I'm running with a Blackberry 7100g from Cingular. It does cell phone, email messaging (will integrate with your corporate email server), Bluetooth, calendar, etc. It's awesome!

I got that Motorola Razr back in June. It looks great, but all the great technological features that its hyped up to have aren't really anything special. Overall a nice phone though

A guy who sells Nextel (and now Sprint) phones tells me how Sprint gets much better reception. Anyone out there using SPRINT? Care to comment?

I have an LG flip phone now also, but she is a little worn down. I am thinking about heading over to the Verizon stand at Tysons to check out this 9800. It has got bluetooth which is really great to have in DC and I have heard it is definitely worth it.

Chris, I feel ya brother. I was sick of Nextel, too, so I recently swapped to their cousin - SPRINT PCS. It has much better coverage....and I recently bought a Treo 650 [phone, palm pilot, camera, mp3 player]. That phone rocks, dude!

I have Sprint and they're OK. A year or two ago, Rob Pegoraro in the Post on-line had a link to sites that would show coverage areas.

Since the coverage, and even the underlying technology, changes so fast, it might be a good idea to compare.

One off-beat issue. Some companies, like mine and our customers in the financial industry, have security rules against cameras being brought into their buildings. That includes cell-phone cameras. Caused a minor flurry of embarrassment when our HQ issued everybody new camera-bearing cell-phones, and our corporate security group banned them.

(Not an irrational rule: we don't want people taking pictures of things like the security points guarding our production centers.)
