Is there still Doubt about who should be playing QB?

At the beginning of the preseason, I was in favor of PR as the
starting QB. This was based on last years performance of MB. This year MB looks like the QB of a few years ago. Today, he made plays where PR would have trouble. IMO - MB is way ahead of PR.

Joe Gibbs said that "we had not seen the last of Mark"

I admit, I did not have a clue what he was talking about.

I still feel that Patrick is a great QB and that his time will come in due time, after learning from these experiences. I am happy with my entire crop of three QBs.

brunell earned his spot in the preseason. brunell solidified his spot today. he is a changed man, and he's a winner. patrick is a great talent, and he will flourish somewhere else. MB is the man now, and i am on his bandwagon. he has demonstrated to me, at least, that he can make the big play when he needs to and will not force the ball into coverage, 2 things ramsey just doesn't do.

I still think that Ramsey would have been special under the right circumstances and possibly still could be on another team. He may be too far gone already though. I also couldn't stand the thought of MB playing for us ever again. He's changed my mind. He looks great and I can imagine that the offense will get better and better each week. We could have put up a lot of points today. We totally controlled this game. The points are coming. We got a shot with Mark.

I'll eat my crow all season long ;-) Hopefully Mark will give me plenty of reason to anyway...

How could you doubt Mark. He has played great since the 4th quarter of the Cowboy game. On the t.v. it said he has the highest 4th quarter QB rating. The one pick he had today really wasn't his fault.

I've loved Mark Brunell since the day we got and still do.

BTW you see that run.....Vick who??? LOL

To answer the original question, no.

It's nice to see that we're actually starting to get a good return on the huge contract that Brunell was given.

He played really well. He had a bit of a down spot in the second half but then in OT he took control and steered the team to a win. Great stuff! 72% 3rd down efficiency! That is just amazing!

BTW, don't know if anyone saw this but before the game Steve Young picked Brunell as his prime performer for this week. He said to just wait and see. That really pumped me up, great to see a media guy putting his faith in us!

i agree with pretty much everything that's being said here. i still think ramsey can turn out to be a fine QB but i was seriously impressed by brunell's performance today. brunell was off the mark almost all game against dallas but only by a yard or two, i had some hope that during the bye week he could get some better chemistry/timing going with the WRs and he fulfilled that wish.

if brunell can maintain that level of play (or better yet, continue to improve as he gets more and more comfortable with the WRs), we should be a playoff team no problem. in fact even if we go 6-7 in the remaining games we would probably still make it!

3-0 is great, but we are still not scoring points on offense, only 1 team in the NFC has scored fewer. The long ball was non existant today, and we still can't get Portis in the endzone. Don't get me wrong, I'll take the win, but to compete against the "big boys", we are going to have to score some points.

Hey, if our offense can put up 20 pts. a game, I think we'll be in pretty good shape. I mean sure Seattle's Offense is inconsistent, but they still are pretty good. Plus, I don't think we broke 20 until like week 13 last year.

I've had no doubt since Joe Gibbs said "Mark Brunell is the starting QB"

I still don't like the way the situation was handled but Brunell is in and it ain't killing us (although, it almost did yesterday; Bone-Head Holmgren decided not to move closer).

I don't like him but he is who is guiding the ship now and did make a couple of key plays yestereday. They did go down field yesterday but we still need to hit at least one big down field play a game to put defenses on their heels to open up Portis. Let's ride him out..... :)

Me too, but when Joe said it LAST YEAR!!!

Remember, Brunell jerseys at the Redskins stores are still $29.99, if you can still find 'em. I have the burgundy jersey, but I want the white one, now.

Apparently, some of us are not watching the games. A couple of key plays? Are you kidding me? He had complete control of our O. Our long DRIVES kept our D off the field. NO 3 and outs like PRam is accustomed to. DID I miss Brunell's Favresque like OT performance? You beat I didnt.

Why is everyone thinking we got to put up 40 every game to justify Brunell being the starter. Look around the league and our O is right there with everyone else. I dont see Tampa and there 4-0 record puttin up 40, or the Bungles and their 16-10 win over Texans AT CINCY! C'mon guys we looked like a TEAM today. We certainly are gettin better each week in IMO. Anyone think Pram would be 3-0 right now? hahahahah

I agree!! Brunell made a little more than a few "key plays". He showed leadership, which is what we need at QB. As Gibbs said "I want one of them to step up and be our starting QB". Well, Brunell showed yesterday that he knows how to manage this Offense, and he did it right. He controlled the clock, made the 3rd down conversions, and even scrambled for a cruicial first down in OT.

Key plays? Yes, he did. But, he also did a lot more that isn't reflected in the won/loss column.

I sure as HELL don't! We dominated the time of posession and Brunell was 73% on 3rd down conversions. P-Ram neer demonstrated that type of consistency or leadership. Never gonna doubt Gibbs again :hail:

Best Brunell moment of the day yesterday...

When he said in the post game press conference:

"Without those ten guys I am nothing."

What a class act. =D>
