How about some R-E-S-P-E-C-T?

Is it just me or does every news channel and sports writer seem to hate us? It's like no matter what we do it's always luck, or a one in a time thing. When was the last time the league had any trouble with the Redskins. Of course Sean Taylor had his little escapade and LaVar was upset for like...a day, so why don't they just lay off? Any Thoughts???

We're the Yankees of the NFL since 2000. Winning changes everything, and that's how it's gonna go.

3-0 might get us some respect.

I can see it now....Salisbury and Clayton: Fact or Fiction...Will the 3-0 Redskins make the playoffs? Salisbury: "No way, the quarterback stinks, the coach is old, blah blah blah." Clayton: "Maybe, if the defense keeps playing well"

with a WINNING SEASON we will earn respect until then we don't deserve any ....because another losing season and IT'S THE SAME OL' REDSKINS.

why care? i'm interested in watching the skins win football games, not watching talking heads talk about football games.
respect or disrespect, it has no impact on how much i enjoy the skins.

The Patiots have 3 of last 4 SuperBowls and they still do not get the RESPECT they deserve. That leads me to think that respect is over rated, as long as we win games that is all the respect we need.

I've been a Redskins fan since I've understood the game of football when I came to this country.
However, I have to play devil's advocate and say that maybe the 'Skins current 2-0 record is a fluke. Unless we beat some really strong teams (Eagles, Giants, just to name a couple), we can't really say that this team is any different that what's been out there for the past 2-3 seasons.
Remember that we had the same euphoria when the 'Skins went 2-0, beating the Patriots along the way and Ramsey lighting up the scoreboard with Spurrier's fun and gun. Everybody said, 'oh look, Spurrier's figured it out and has been able to apply his system into the NFL. He's a genius.' No one should make the same mistake again.

Im over it. The media has its position and they are correct. We have overspent in the past and got nothing for it.
We need to come out and win a bit and silence the critics. Until then, we just need to take our lumps.

Frank you are 100% correct too.
Yep, Why don't we understand we haven't done anything to receive RESPECT, a 9-7 W over Chi, ha. And a miracle W over Dallas. If and only when our O gets into gear the Respect will come, making it by the skin of our teeth even if ending the season 9-7, they will say the ball just went our way in the close games, unless we beat top notch teams like KC and P-illy
We need to win convincingly over mediocre teams to command R-E-S-P-E-C-T

Well I was not expecting what ya'll typed, but I just think as any true fan would that we need a little respect. Why call wins miracles, or call wins Flukes as fans!?!? We should say, hell yeah, our team just won, and were shaping to be good. I just want some respect.

No one should mistake Steve Spurrier for Joe Gibbs.

This "respect" thing is getting out of hand. We are 2-0 after beating two teams that finished with losing records last year and didn't even make the playoffs. If we had won convincingly then I would tend to agree with people that we are being disrespected. Until we start easily beating the teams that we should (i.e. the Bears) and manage to win against the top teams in the NFL, we wont get, and don't deserve any respect. The next few weeks will go a long way towards shaping how the media percieves our team. If we beat the Seahawks at home and can take out either the Chiefs or Broncos then I think that the media will start to take notice. But if we don't, then people will look at us as the same old Skins and they will be right.

The patriots get all the respect they deserve. True, they didnt for a while, but now they are considered among the great teams of all time, bill belichek is the "genius" of the nfl, and they can do no wrong. so they get plenty of respect IMO. But the skins.. We are the team everyone loves to hate. I totally understande that we have sucked for a long time and have made some dumb moves in the past, but the media truly loves to rip on us. Its common knowledge that guys like lenny, and Dr. Z hate us, but even scrub Guys like Adam schein, and michael tanier love to take any little shot at us even when disscussing other teams. It's really funny to me. All i know is we HAVE to win sunday, because i really dont feel like reading all these fool's articles about how they were right. One side note... Peter King actually picked us to win...

I could not care less about what others think about the Redskins.
I believe in our team and our coaches. I support them 100% and always have. I understand that there will be doubters. I just feel I don't need their opinions to justify mine.
I have always been realistic, though, when evaluating our team. If they play terrible I'll acknowledge that. If they play well, I'll acknowledge that too.
I will continue to support them to the fullest, knowing that one day, when we ARE champs, there will be no sweeter jubilation!
