8-8?

I love my team, and even starting 2-0, looking at the remaining schedule, can we really expect the Skins to do any better than 8-8? In KC, Denver, Tampa & St. Louis. Home with Oakland, Seattle & San Diego. Two with the Eagles, two with the improved Giants, and another tilt with Dallas. That's 11 tough games left. Assuming there's no upset against Arizona and the 49ers, and that's assuming a lot, they'd still have to win 5 or more of 12 tough games. I can't see it happening.
If the luck rolls the Skins way, like it did in Dallas that'll help. I may be biased but it seems that luck has usually rolled against the Skins in the recent past. But if it corrected itself against Dallas, and continues, I still don't see how 8-8 could be eclipsed.
I sure hope I'm wrong, but I wouldn't bet two bits that the Skins will get more than eight W's this season. Even with the 2-0 start. Sorry...

You could be right. It is tough to say how this will end up. All we need is a little offense and we will be ok. But there is few and far between.

Every year in the NFL, every single year, there is at least one team that surprises everyone and surpasses everyone's expectations. Why can't that team be the Redskins this year? If you are afraid of playing any team with a winning record -- if you are afraid of playing an 0-3 Raiders team coached by Norv Turner -- then you really need to start believing in your team.
I am still predicting 13-3. And to tell you the truth, I would much rather predict 13-3 and have an 8-8 result than to predict 8-8 and see my team go 13-3. And to really tell you the truth, I feel bad conceding 3 losses. But hey, I have to be realistic.

You can't predict wins and losses. Don't expect the Skins to lose to teams based on what you have seen out of them in the first 2 weeks.
We have to take it one game at a time and try and beat the team next up on the schedule. Let's see how we progress and how other teams separate themselves from the pack before we say we can't beat people.

If there is one thing that the win against the Cowboys has shown me is that this team is coming together as "a team". That win was bigger for "the team" than any win in recent years and I think it will be turning point of "the team" for the future.
Will those games be a challenge for the Redskins? Certainly. This new "team", however, is up to that challenge and I expect "TEAM-REDSKINS" will be quite a formidable foe themselves.
Remember, only one TD has been scored against the Redskins thus far...and that was on a trick play.
I, for one, am optimistic.
8-8? That is not on only a possibility in my book, it is a likely probability (at the very least).
Don't look now, folks, but this year's "TEAM REDSKINS" is not like the Redskins players of recent years.
Mark my words, we're in for a good ride this year, folks.
Yes, this team will lose....but just know that this team will fight hard week in and week out and I am quite confident that even if we will not be victorious in a given week, we will be close...and the other team will respect us when all is said and done.
I don't know about the rest of you but, even with our offense not clicking quite yet, I'm pretty excited about how this team seems to be gelling. That can only bode well for the Redskins (and Redskins fans) in the future.

For example, Why are Seahawks, Bucs, Giants, Rams, or Broncos better than us? I could go on but I do not wish to called an unrealistic optimist.
Take it one week at a time. So that you know: I predict a win for the Skins next week. So, cross that week already.

Yes, they are gelling. I am gelling too. I think there is a tv commercial about it.

Two TDs have been scored against us. One on a very short field after A. Brown's fumbled punt return, and the trick play on monday.

Yes, you got the small point across. Did you get the big picture?
This is becoming a TEAM for the first time since Joe left. That is far more important in the overall scheme of things than a single statistic.

Certainly, the defense is superb. We've got plenty of room for improvement on ST's and particularly on offense - and we're in a good spot to have it happen. I'm happy the BYE fell where it did. We don't need a lot of points, but we're gonna need more than we've put up so far. Santana and Portis are proving to be weapons better than we've had in the past. If by 8-8 you're controlling your expectations and preparing to enjoy each win beyond 8 a with a little more hip in your step - more power to you.
I went 6 for 6 on my picks with the spread this week - not bad for a guy that don't know too much

I'm not sure what your point is. I was just correcting a factual error, and did not have a point other than that.

Yeah I was thinking we'd be 0-16, then we won one, so I changed to 1-15, then we won 2, so now I think we'll be 2-14, when The 'Skins beat Seattle and are 3-0 I'll revise that projection again to 3-13, so on & so forth.
Glad to know we have fans so beaten down that even when the 'Skins are winning they are loosers.

Ok. As long as we're clear.
I'm already ready for Sunday!

Going 4 and 3 in the next 7 games would put us at 6-3 but if we can go 5-2 we would be in great position.
I have just fully realized the impact of the last 3 games being against the pukes, giants and iggles. These could be very big games for us and, in all likelihood, regardless of where we stand, I would not be all that sure we should expose Cambell, as it were, against these teams!
One game at a time and we should be at least 9-7 maybe 10-6.

I agree with you Redskin in Canada. We can beat any of these teams with our defense alone. Doesn't mean that we will, but we do have as good a chance as anybody else.

Until our O shows they can step up, 8-8 is a safe bet. The bye should help Bunny click with the first team, remember MNF was a short week.

Even the Colt's offense is sputtering (relatively speaking) right now.
This is only the first 3 weeks of the year, we will pick it up when we create more opportunities.

You have just predicted the same thing I was thinking of this week. The Seahawks is a definite win after this bye week. We will then probably split with the two aways games at Denver and KC. The niners after that should be no contest, followed by a tough game up in New York. We should split with both the Eagles and the Giants. (That puts us 7-3 right now) Probably 2 of the next four (@ Bucs, vs. Raiders, vs. Chargers, @ Rams) A definite win vs. Cards, and a hopefully win against the pukes at Fedex.
That puts us 11-5, but that does seem unrealistic. However, I don't see how it is unreasonable for us to manage 10-6 and a playoff berth. Definitely no less than 9-7 the way the defense is totally shuting down the run.

Not so fast, my friends. Seattle is no slouch, and the Skins need to stay focused since they had a bye week. Sure, it gives them a chance to heal, but it also hinders the momentum of that big win in texas. I really, really hope we kick some Seahawk butt, but I'm not prepared to guarantee a win. Plus, beyond this Sunday, nobody knows what will happen.

Lets get it on....I hope Lavar bursts back onto the scene this week. He is a playmaker.

I actually don't quite agree here Diesel. . . I think this bye week placement could not be better. We have almost 2 weeks to prepare for this next upcoming game AT Fedex!! Maybe this is a chance to build on our opened up offense we gave a sneak-peak of on Monday night. And you are right, I should not placed a "garunteed" win next week (We saw what happened with Julian Peterson), but I think we have a better chance than Alexander and the Seahawks D does.

Oops. Forgot about that lame Bears TD after the botched kickoff return. Wow. That short term memory for the 40+ crowd is a beyotch!

In light of the monday night VERY EMOTIONAL win the bye week couldnt have came at a better time, it gave the team to let this win sink in and give us a hole week to prepare for the seahawks rather than a short week and a let down game yesterday. This should help us get to 3-0 before the trip to KC and Denver because the team will have to really focus for those two games, i figure if we can go 2-1 ovver the next 3 for a 4-1 total we are in good shape and moving forward nicely. Imagine we come out of that 5-0 that would be great, I wonder if the rest of the league would even know if we got to 5-0.
