The most hated team in the league

Is it just me or are the redskins the most hated team in the world. Whenever an obvious hold was on dallas on the replay madden would call it a good block and when the Cowboys held us and it got called he wouldn't see it but if we held them, oh it was so obvious. All over TV no one says "the redskins D played great to keep it this close" or "the redskins showed great heart and resiliency to stay in this one until the last minute" but all they do is blame Dallas' play calling which as far as i'm concerned did not lose that game. They all say Washington didn't win, they say Dallas lost. From what I saw the D won it all game and the O finished it in the 4th. But we are getting no love.

Let the media be biased. We are 2-0 right now - 'nuff said.

Just antoher reason I hate madden. Once he picks a player he lickes, he just wont shut up. The entire game, "roy williams, roy williams, roy williams..."

and im also sick of dallas saying how they lost because they stopped playing in the last 2 minutes, and roy wasn't playing his best game then. Yes, they were, and yes, roy was playing his best, he just got beat, admit it, roy williams is not God believe it or not. He got beat by someone faster than him, why is that so hard for dallas fans to understand?

i love being hated and misunderestimated. it makes victory that much sweeter. as a skins fan, you have to learn to laugh it off.

A Superbowl trophy will win us many new "friends" and "admirers" who "knew all along" the quality of our coaches, personnel, front office, yada yada yada...

Who cares about these clowns?

I still remember Madden and many others singing every conceivable praise in favour of Joe Gibbs years ago. No matter then and no matter now.

Respect is earned on the field and the one that matters is on the opposite side not on the media booths!

I agree. In fact, the media is usually the last to figure out when a team has turned the corner and is making a comeback. All of the predictions about this year's outcomes -- even gauging the difficulty of every team's schedule -- are based on last year's outdated news. Every year there are surprises, and how often to the pundits pick these Cinderella teams from the start of the season? Never. Who picked San Diego to be a contender last year? Nobody. But then the media clowns all jumped on the bandwagon and made San Diego one of the teams to beat this year. And after week 2 San Diego is suddenly 0-2.

The problem is not the media. The problem is that there are too many Redskins fans -- yes, Redskins fans -- who underestimate this team's potential. We can go 13-3 this year . . .

Yeah I thought Madden was totally pro-Redskin. Guess that was in the first Joe Gibbs' era.

You guys are right. Who the heck cares. The media will be there when we win, but we know we die-hard fans were there the entire time.

I agree. Underestimating our own team and bickering about which brother should play QB trickles negativity and doubt down to our players. Clinton Portis acknowledged the naysayers of the QB pseudo-scandal. Thankfully, he and the team did not let it affect them in the wrong way Monday night.

It's not hate. It's disrespect. The first Gibbs team did not get that until John Riggins out ran Lyle Blackwood in SB 17.

During the season, shortened by a strike, the papers reported the Redskins, who finished 9 and 1, as an accident. As if the Cowboys led the NFC by right of being The Cowboys rah rah.

This will change.
