I don't want Kevin Jones anymore, I want...

WARRICK DUNN! The Post mentioned him as a possible option. He is small but a very bruising back in the redzone. He is a good runner and decent catching passes out of the backfield. I liked Kevin Jones but now that Dunn's available, I want him. Trung, see ya!

The worst thing the article stated was the probable release of Gibby. I hope he lands somewhere else because he sure does have his head on straight.

Jake, we've gotta find a big bruiser for a RB...built like Riggins. I wish we could get Stephen Davis back. Duce Staley and Warrick Dunn may be our best options in the free agency.

im with you jr, I like Dunn but he is too small and I still think Betts or Rock can carry the load!!!

Rock is a Gibbs running back. Let's see what he can do a la Riggins.

Whoever they put in the backfield will look a lot better when they are working behind a Joe Bugel built line! :D

NO WAY COME ON...

Warrick Dunn would have fit perfectly into Steve Spurrier's offense. Not Joe Gibbs'. Dunn is a 12-15 carry, break one for 52 yard type of back. Not a guy that is going to wear a defense down.

We need a diesel back (no pun intended) that will lower his shoulders and maul between the tackles. A train that can take the punishment of carrying the rock 25 or 30 times a game, and make his final carry mean as much as his first.

Dunn is a 13 carry, 4 catch out of the backfield, blazing fast scat back. Nothing more. I have great respect for him because he is tough, and he is a gamer. But if the Falcons though that he could carry the load in the backfield than they wouldn't have drafted T.J Ducket.

Besides, he isn't a redzone back to get the ball. That is what they have Duckett for. He might be split out, or in the slot, but he isnt going to get a carry inside the ten.

We need a big, physical, hard running, back. Someone that runs as hard and determined as Rock Cartwright, with the build and field vision of Stepthen Davis. They aren't outhere somewhere, Gibbs' just needs to find him. He will, and it won't be Warrick Dunn.

What about that kid from Oregon or Oregon St.

6'1 225? Sounds good to me - rated right behind or in front of Jones depending on which draft site you study.

No more small backs. I'd be satisfied with Rock, or Ladell back there next season. I'd prefer a big back, isn't one of the niners backs a FA this year? Anyhow, our O-line will make the holes.

Im rooting for Rock.

Um, Rock is 5'7 200 pounds - about as small as they come Chris...

Jackson is the guy's name out of Oregon I think. Power and good speed, but not a blazer - can move the pile from what I have read.

Rock is 225 pounds and is worthy of the job. That way wdont waste cap money on Dillon or Staley. He is only 5'7" so he just looks small. Same build as Davis only six inches shorter, he would be bigger than Stephen if he had his height!!!!

Believe it or not, he's 5'7, 240! He is friggin built. I like Rock, too. He has amazing speed for being so built. Tremendous acceleration.

Warrick Dunn is very versitile. You guys may not like him, but he is by far better than Trung. \:D/ :lowblow:

He's a trung clone. a scat back. they are the same guy. we don't need more of the same. we need a guy who breaks this current mold.

Priest Holmes is 5'9" and 213 lbs. 'Nuff said.

I don't mind small and light....if the RB has the heart, determination, and ability to burst through the holes....like the ROCK can do.

The only thing that concerns me about Rock, regarding is size, is the potential for injury. Otherwise, I think he's worth a serious look.

Jake there is no way in H that the Rock is 240, just like Gilbert Brown is not 350 but closer to 375

I'm with you all...Rock is a hungry RB. Spurrier only gave him a few opportunities and he showed the crowd how good he can be. I am hoping that Betts will eventually turn into a featured RB soon.

What about Ron Dayne...NYG doesn't use him much...is he a FA?

:puke: there is a reason they don't use him, he sat on the bench behind a RB that has more fumbles than anyone. you do the math on that one. i personally think that guy has NO vision. he runs like troy hambrick.....straight into the backs of his linemen.

I disagree with all of you people. The best FA Rb is Kevan Barlow of SanFrancisco. Hes got speed and power, ran more than 1,000 yards this year, and hes only 23. If we can't get him, just draft Kevin Jones, hes a player in the mold of LaDainian Tomlinson.

but has it come to your attention that barlow is a RFA? SF will offer him the highest tendered offer, meaning they will want 1st round draft picks for compensation........

If we can snag Barlow for a second rounder, I say do it. If not, theres a great young back from Virginia Tech by the name of Kevin Jones whos gonna be around for the 5th pick.

BTW - Rock was 240 lbs in his rookie season but dropped some weight this past offseason and is down to 225 or so (depending on that magazine that redskincity was talking about)...

I'n still with Rock...he's hungry and cheap. He will succeed in Gibb's offense. If we can get a high profile RB in the draft then that would be great too...but I believe that our defense really needs some help...defensive tackle, safety...
